Why is there no new plugin like these guys???

https://www.kvraudio.com/product/phaseb ... abugsaudio
https://www.kvraudio.com/product/phase_ ... udiocation

or is there?

...note that both these had mono and stereo versions. LOSER also had one and it was ported, but very buggy.

This is how I understand it not being a filter expert: "phase rotation" is to my knowledge not a technically very precise term. There are some based on all-pass filters IIR filters and some based on FIR filters.

(no order)

FIR:
https://www.voxengo.com/product/pha979/

IIR (more common):

https://store.solidstatelogic.com/plug- ... ve-x-phase
https://www.waves.com/plugins/inphase
https://www.airwindows.com/phasenudge/
https://x42-plugins.com/x42/x42-phaserotate
https://www.fabfilter.com/products/pro- ... er-plug-in

To my knowledge, most (if not all) phase rotators except for PHA979 are IIR all-pass filters. The difference to my knowledge is that IIR filters don't rotate totally evenly across the frequency spectrum wheras PHA does. In exchange, PHA introduces more latency wheras all-pass filters don't. So both have upsides and downsides.

I'm pretty sure the ones you mentioned are also IIR filters. So there are plenty of options the way I see it.

FIR linear phase rotation also changes the impulse of sounds which might not be desired. PhaseNudge isn't IIR how it's tradtionally implemented or FIR and it's not really a phase rotator. It's using a implementation common in reverb design called a "Schroeder Allpass" which isn't really fit for purpose in what people usually use phase rotation for(it doubles up transients)

Process Audio Protility is free and does phase rotation.

Thanks, it does, but very limited - band limited.... and I should have titled it phase.

Which one of these does something like this? This is the kind of rotation undertaken by the plugins I mentioned.

Sorry, I haven't watched the whole video, just seen he uses the RX phase module.

Looking at the manual of RX11: https://docs.izotope.com/rx11/en/phase.html

It states: "When a waveform’s phase is rotated, every frequency is rotated equally."

While they don't mention anything too technical about the RX11 phase module, this reads like a linear phase shift to me which would be that RX11 works technically closer to Voxengo PHA-979. I might be wrong though. In any case, one big difference to the RX11 phase module is that it can analyze a whole waveform and determine a rotation that weighs the waveform more towards an equal phase distribution. I don't think this is easy to do without an offline analysis with normal plugins as they have a limited lookahead.

Happy to hear other expert opinions on that. That said, I don't think the plugins you have mentioned actually do those constant phase shifts. I'm pretty sure they would mention this if they did. If you look for a cheaper offline solution than RX (whch is maybe what the question is about), you might want to check whether Acon Acoustica has a feature like this. I haven't checked.

And if you want full control, there is this one, Melda MFreeformPhase, which is also free. Instead of inputing a simple phase rotation value, you draw a curve of the rotation process, the frequencies delays :

Cool, this looks like a good one. Didn't know this.

By the way, just looked it up, Acoustica also has something similar to RX.
