How did they mess up - they just forced the customers to wait a week most before downloading. They have a history. This antics have proven not to be an issue. Therefore, they have not messed up, according to there clerks. They messed up if messes with there sales and im not convinced it will.

Thank you for making my point for me. Yes ... THEY (IK) MESSED UP... the $29.99 deal initially slipped through, some got in - other got denied, then they pulled it and then they opened it up again. You devalue his experience because he got into the Group Buy at $29.99. There was no small print saying "if you get it at $29.99 you can expect a subpar experience". It either qualified or it didn't. Well to be fair to IK , it qualified, it didn't , then it qualified again.
IK blew it here and when they changed their terms (at least 3 times) they opened it up to even more confusion and they couldn't serve the demand. Those of us who know IK were confident they would sort it all out in the end as that was our prior experience. They also initially encouraged people to make the choices when presented, not to wait to select them. Then they changed that advice to reassurance "you have more time" when their servers were struggling.
A newcomer to IK was presented with a fast paced, changing landscape that had numerous entry points, little guidance on how to proceed and changing rules for participating. Not to mention the understandable confusion over what was an add on and what was a core product. I've been with Ik for decades. I could navigate it but it would be confusing for any new person to their ecosystem. IK leaned on the forums to help clarify things which in many cases resulted in even more confusion. There was only so much "Peter from IK " to go around.
If your statement was "Hey, you know that sucks. You did well - though overall" . There would be no argument, at least from me. But you are taking the piss out of him because he is somehow defective and not nearly as self-restrained as he should be (certainly not to your high standard) .
I experienced the group buy and it was a needlessly confusing experience for many. He didn't need the link to the marshmallow study and he didn't deserve your implied insult. The air must be really nice up there.

So swings and roundabouts.Scotty wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 5:48 pm IK messed up and then their servers couldn't handle the predictable server overload.
I'm not saying the GB was perfect; I'm saying that complaining about getting 50 plugins for just over 50 cents a pop by exploiting a loophole by buying a deeply discounted product that didn't actually qualify seems a little harsh.
Side note: If you'd have waited a little for the dust to settle, the whole process of choosing your freebies reverted back to the original method a while back. That's what you got for passing the marshmallow test. It still lets you choose things that you already own as part of a bundle, but given that the OP is complaining that they failed to pick up said bundles, that hardly was an issue.

I admit that a large part of this is due to my own inexperience, so please forgive my earlier venting. I’ve learned my lesson and will definitely be more patient next time.
To give some context on why I panicked: I joined in the final days via PluginBoutique. It started with PB flagging my account and withholding the key, forcing me to email their support. Then, the IK Product Manager kept failing to register Amplitube 5.
By the time I finally got in, the site was lagging severely—download buttons and product choices were freezing or disappearing entirely. Seeing everyone discuss the "deadline" gave me a huge sense of urgency (and FOMO). I felt like if I didn't click something fast, the server would crash or I'd lose the spot.
The irony is, I actually recommended this Group Buy to a friend. Even he "wasted" 10 picks figuring it out but still managed to grab the main Suites. Meanwhile, I’m sitting here with a collection of scattered plugins.
I’ve lowered my expectations for a fix, but I still genuinely like IK’s products (their free stuff is great). Thank you to everyone who replied, regardless of the viewpoint. It was an expensive lesson, but a lesson nonetheless.

Well, Ik has sales all of the time so you can usually get their software relatively cheap (way below msrp anyway).

If that's your reading, then you are misunderstanding what I'm saying. There are 2 points here.Scotty wrote: Tue Nov 25, 2025 2:19 am If your statement was "Hey, you know that sucks. First point: Yes, IK messed up. But that was also to the consumer's benefit, and explicitly to the poster whom you have chosen to speak on behalf of. To ignore that, and to pretend that the 50 plugins in your plugin library don't exist is just silly. That's why I'm saying this is such a 1-sided view that completely ignores what actually happened.
Second point was about the original poster's own admission that they didn't take the time to understand the Group Buy. I'm just saying that that wasn't - as the OP seems to feel - entirely IK's fault, but actually also the fault of the people who didn't take that time. I don't think that's an unreasonable assertion.
I'm not defending IK's inability to make the product structure clear on the website. But I do feel that if your entire argument was "I didn't understand the Group Buy, but instead rushed in. And then, depsite the website lagging and registrations sometimes failing, I was unable to wait a few days/weeks" is an admission of not showing the necessary patience when it's clear that things are going to hell. I don't know why you are so adamant that this was a great display of restraint.
Anyway, I don't see any point in arguing about this. If you think the 50 top-tier plugins the OP received and that your friends received somehow don't count; or that exploiting a glitch and then complaining about glitches is mising the bigger picture, that's your perogative. I just think that a more realistic perspective applies here. Somewhere between "it was perfect" and "I got robbed". But I know we live in a binary world these days where nuance is a mystery to most people.
Furthermore the poster to whom my initial reply was addressed has since also responded, so there's probably no need for you to speak on their behalf

This sounds a lot more realistic way of looking at things. Yeah, it sucks that you didn't make the most out of the deal, but you still got a great deal anyway. The deadline for making your picks actually still hasn't passed, and I am pretty sure it was displayed clearly on the Group Buy page. IME, it's always been 1 month after the GB ends. I made my last picks a couple of days ago.jumfan1 wrote: Tue Nov 25, 2025 3:02 am I admit that a large part of this is due to my own inexperience, so please forgive my earlier venting. Fair enough but I think you should have held fire on your toxic marshmallow post. That was belittling and not a fair representation of the presenting circumstances. I've already indicated the how and why. I'll leave it there.

hey good people of this forum.
I had never ever tried a single ikm plugin, when i heard about the group buy i got amplitube for 29 used and frantically selected a bunch of different plugins from the promo page,
but i am so confused because after installing t-rex, modo guitar and all that jazz it seems like i get all of the plugins even those i didnt select.
im not really complaining, im just curious... was it really just a facade of sorts? like having to select plugin by plugin but getting the whole thing anyways?

There are various bundles with more or less content. Depending on what you buy you can therefore get a lot of plugins/content that is included. YOu can see this on the "Versions" page, e.g. for T-Racks (what you presumably mean with T-Rex): https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/t ... p=versions100F wrote: Tue Nov 25, 2025 6:10 pm But i am so confused because after installing t-rex, modo guitar and all that jazz it seems like i get all of the plugins even those i didnt select.

So the intro (free) version has 3 modules/plugins, T-Racks 6 has 19, PRO has 40 and MAX has 62.
If you own a bundle, you need to be careful with your picks, as the selector will still allow you to pick some (though not all) of the stuff you already own in a bundle. That means a bit of extra work on your end to figure out what you are missing. In T-Racks 6, this easiest way to do this is to open the new Modules Manager. In other products, you can typically see what you own in the product itself.

it would be really cool if I could download my libraires but the IK downloads have been so slow for the last week I haven't been able to. Probably because of this group buy they didn't get enough bandwidth.
