This instrumental track, "Parade of Eyeballs," began with a real-life sight: a large, plastic eyeball rolling down the sidewalk toward my wife, dog, and me during a windy, pre-Halloween walk through our neighborhood. The street was already filled with elaborate and creative decorations, and that surreal moment, which I captured in the photo used for the cover art, became the song's inspiration.

The music itself is built on a foundation of tapping instruments. I used the Chapman Stick Guitar SG12 to establish the primary rhythmic riffs. The lower register is anchored by the NS Chapman Stick acting as the bass, used to double, harmonize, and otherwise augment the SG12. Drums were added via the Zendrum. Several layered guitar tracks provide harmonic texture, melodies and solos, and a lead synth played on the LinnStrument handles the main melodic lines and counter melodies.

Ha, you're really very creative! Halloween certainly provides every opportunity for that.

"Parade of Eyeballs": This time the song is nicely groovy and driving. The unpredictable
snare hits loosen up the groove very nicely. The SG12 guitar provides a nice, lively base
for the groove.

Overall, beautifully done - an entertaining experience of excitedly strolling along the street
decorated with pumpkin heads (or plastic eyeballs?). :tu:

jcub,
Parade of Eyeballs: the inspiration for the song is very amusing; cool photo. Bass (Stick) and drums rock. So do the lead synth and the guitars/Sticks. Kind of Jeff Beck-ish. Pretty wild, but not too off-the-rails crazy (that's a compliment!). Really cool song and recording! Perhaps you could check out my song I will post soon.

Thanks for the comments! Luckily, we have been safe from rolling eyeballs on the loose. But now that the Christmas decorations are starting to go up who knows what we will find on our next walk.
