Absynth 6

Actually I'm a Magpie and have pretty much backed everything Absynth up over the years and made them into collections - these were all free in the UL so should be OK to share (I've also converted them to .nabs format and added previews for Komplete Kontrol)

A lot of this early experimentation was outstanding - what really attracted me to NI products back then - I hope we get some of that back

Some are in some of the legacy libraries that it ships with, but these are amalgamated from what's in the user library and converted from .glo to .nabs

Absynth and Zebra do complement each other well. They are both fantastic synths and it's awesome that they are both getting an upgrade.

.... I think alot of people are maybe a bit biased by the nostalgia & fuzzy memories of it. After using so many other ultra powerful synths since and being so spoiled, Absynth kinda felt a bit dull and sounded dated I many department I must admit. It was very clunky to use also compared to what we're used now and limited in many aspects. I kinda forgot that over the years. Still fun to use, but definitely dated. To my ears at least. So I'm one of those who would like a rebirth yes, but updated, revamped and on par soundwise with the actual big synths on the market (Falcon, Omnisphere, Pigments, PhasePlant, etc). If they leave the engine 'as is' you might feel disappointed and be overtaken by reality VS nostalgia rather quickly, I'm telling you.

Yeah, same. The question is: would you pay (or we) for an UI-only upgrade? Crisp 4k vector graphics and a neat patch/wave browser. I am thinking about it at the moment if the update will be in the fashion of Massive-to-Massive X or more of an overhaul with some more filters and wavetables.

Several presets in 'Best of Brian' are missing their WAV files. I searched my entire system, but they were not found. Can you also share these WAVs?

Have you already tried disabling the VSTi wrapper "DPI aware" setting and then reloading the plugins? This works for some other older NI plugins like FM8.

Worth a try, indeed. I am sure I tried that years ago, but for some reason it did not work on my system. However, it does the trick now.
Thanks for the reminder! I can use Absynth 5 again without ruining my eyes.
Now, I just have to endure the countdown until release of version 6 ...

Just going to put this out there...I don't give a damn about Absynth.

That said, I do give a damn that NI was smart to bring Clevinger back to update it vs. killing it like they said prior. I don't know if there was any change in management over there recently but regardless it was a good decision.

Maybe, I think it could be as simple as someone was hired at NI or their parent company that liked Absynth and OK'd paying Brian.

This was unexpected. Pleased that I will be able to run this on my mac again. I always found absynth's idiosyncracies useful when looking to make sounds I wouldn't make normally...
