VoiSona is a AI-based singing voice synthesizer developed by the Japanese company, Techno-Speech Inc., whom contributed to the development of CeVIO Creative Studio previously. Released in 2022, VoiSona is a standalone + VSTi application which supports Windows, Mac OS, and as of 2024, iPad/iPhone OS.

PRICE MODEL

VoiSona utilizes a freemium model. That is, the editor and application itself is free to use, which includes the default voice library, Chis-A (Japanese). Anyone can download VoiSona after creating an account on the website linked above.

Additional voices are sold individually in various mediums and methods. All VoiSona vocalists are available on the official website in monthly subscription, annual subscription, and one-time-purchase options. Additionally, voices purchased for CeVIO AI who were rereleased or co-released for VoiSona can have their CeVIO AI serial codes activated for use on VoiSona free of charge.

LICENSE ACTIVATION & ACCOUNT LIMITS

Voice libraries purchased directly from VoiSona's official website are automatically attached to the user's VoiSona account. When opening VoiSona, the user is prompted to log in, which will provide access to the voice libraries attached to the account. Voice libraries can then be downloaded and installed within the editor, no extra files required, and include any (and all) versions publicly available for easy downgrading/upgrading.

Accounts can be logged in on up to two computers (Win/Mac) and two mobile devices (iPad/iPhone), which provides cross-platform access to the same voice libraries that have been purchased (no need to re-purchase).

VOICE INFORMATION

VoiSona currently supports Japanese, English, and Chinese (Mandarin) vocalists. The free, default, vocalist mentioned prior is Japanese-only. However, Chis-A has a separate, paid, voice library titled "Chis-A English" which is able to use multi-language synthesis to sing in English, Japanese and Mandarin as of September 2025. SELENA was the second singer to receive multi-lingual synthesis, allowing her to sing in Japanese (in addition to her native language of English).

Multi-language synthesis is intended to be released on a rolling, per-voice, basis.

The following are vocalists capable of singing in English:
  • SELENA : developed by Chorical (native)
Voices may contain unique "expressions" which are note-applicable characteristics learned from the voice source during training, such as "exhale," "growl," "whisper," etc. Additionally, VoiSona supports dynamic notation to amplify or subdue a vocalist's output. Some VoiSona vocalists use "emotion" sliders, which drastically change the timbre of a voice from "Power" to "Soft."

Currently, the following vocalists have multiple emotions available:
  • SELENA (English native, Japanese multi-lingual), developed by Chorical
  • Lunon (Japanese), developed by Tsukino
  • Yurin (Mandarin Chinese), developed by Sephirese
RESOURCES

The VoiSona official website maintains an in-depth and expansive manual for the software, available at https://manual.voisona.com/page/song-en.

There's no way to see the prices without making an account. That's ominous.
Exactly how much more does a voice cost compared to Synthesizer V?

It's one of my main complaints about the website too, honestly. Technically they post them on the news page, but not everybody reads that. These are the prices according to the website:

Monthly subs: 880 yen/mo (roughly 5~6 USD) per voice
Annual subs: 6600 yen/yr (roughly 42~43 USD) per voice
One-time-purchase: 13200 yen (roughly 85 USD) per voice.

I can add the price info/links to purchase off the VoiSona site perhaps? I just didn't want to clutter the thread, but if it's useful maybe it's worth.

You can also find voices available on DLSite, which might be available for cheaper with site-coupons. If a voice exists on CeVIO AI and VoiSona, it's better to buy the CeVIO AI version and use that code for VoiSona authorization, it's cheaper.

Overall, the prices are comparable with SynthesizerV voices, especially the latest SynthesizerV 2 voices.

Hmm..the only difference then is that they think subscription is appealing, and that's appaling.

Yea that's so true lol.
The entire appearance looks like a SynV clone, with the difference VoiSona has licensing that s*cks big time. I'm not even visiting their website, doesn't deserve the traffic

I'm generally anti-subscription, but when it's merely an option I think it's ok.

With some of my past vocal synthesizer purchases, I've regretted it after only using them for one project or two. I think with an optional subscription format, it can lower the investment since you can get a vocalist for a month, making a song or two, and if you really enjoy the vocalist pay the full price to get the one-time-purchase option. I find it infinitely more acceptable than something like ACE Studio.

It seems they added VoiSona to Sonicwire, but only the Japanese side for now...

Voices are 13,750 yen (~88 dollars) and it's the one-time-purchase (forever ownership) option.

There's this voice named "Pepper" that was Japanese-only at first, but they recently added English support to it. I guess it's from some home robot series...? Not my favorite, but I guess it's a cool gimmicky type sound. They also are having a 20% sale for it.

As of today or so, they decided to make Chis-A's English library free of charge. This means that every account, both old and new, will have Chis-A Japanese and Chis-A English. However, Chis-A English can ALSO sing in Japanese and Mandarin, which is cool! I'm happy they decided to give a free English and Chinese option so people could actually test it out before buying more vocalists in the same way as Japanese customers.
