I'm enjoying Refractalizer. Can you tell me please what is the "CRS" slider doing? I don't find it in the manual and it is not an abbreviation that I'm familiar with. Thanks!

Ha, of course…with these spectral plugins you never know what strange manipulations you’re getting into. A good simple answer! Thank you.

The stereo control does change as you go up.Neon Breath wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 9:42 pm Despite being quite resource-intensive (so far, will see if they optimize it in the future), this plugin sounds really good and is really nice, I must admit.
I'm a longtime fan & lover of Audio Ease's now-discontinued RiverRun granular plugin. To this day, I've never managed to find an equivalent in terms of sound quality, granular cloud density and ease of granulation. That one really created gooey grain clouds in no time, always sounding sublime. Even among today's powerful granular synths, nothing compares to RiverRun in terms of sound aesthetics, which is ironic considering that plugin is over 15+ years old.
I think this one might just be the one that finally replaces it. The only thing missing is stereo random pan per grains, right now it's a strange ping-pong pattern but I saw that the developer intends to add it in a future update. Apart from that, this plugin is magnificent in terms of sound quality![]()
It's essentially panned based on the grain rate. If you slow down grain generation you can see how it works. With the stereoizer at 4 and a grain rate of a quarter note it will take 4 grains to traverse the stereo field.
Obviously this gets super dense at higher grain rates and you get a type of AM.
To get random grains modulate the low end of travel of the stereoizer with a fast S&H envelope.

Custom ReFractalizer patch which randomly triggers a sample pool of 1.800+ samples from my sound library Colliding Worlds, explanations inside.

Improvising with a custom ReFractalizer patch using a large pool of 381 samples from my sound library Resurrection for Alchemy 2, LFO1 with vary low modulation depth is slowly scanning through a few samples, changing the sample selection + sample speed sliders on the fly.

Thank you for your demonstrations. Well done.Sampleconstruct wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 12:49 am Improvising with a custom ReFractalizer patch using a large pool of 381 samples from my sound library Resurrection for Alchemy 2, LFO1 with vary low modulation depth is slowly scanning through a few samples, changing the sample selection + sample speed sliders on the fly.

Simply, effing brilliant!! The slow scanning creates some really interesting textures, and massive drones and washes. This plug-in is definitely top notch, and ideal for the cinematic soundscapers, and explorers. Great example as always Simon!Sampleconstruct wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 12:49 am Improvising with a custom ReFractalizer patch using a large pool of 381 samples from my sound library Resurrection for Alchemy 2, LFO1 with vary low modulation depth is slowly scanning through a few samples, changing the sample selection + sample speed sliders on the fly.

I just got upgraded to palindrome 2 since I had missed the new version (given to me free by Ivo since he's a super nice guy), anyway, I like it better personally... ymmv
palindrome doesn't melt my cpu though, which prob has a lot to do with it.

I bought their bundle yesterday. Combobulator is the slowest one. It is definitely not for use as a real-time effect… yet. They don’t say what “brains” are included but I asked on their Discord and got an answer from Robin:
“It comes with the free ZEE, Rob Clouth, Popbot Acoustic, and Nature SFX models plus one additional Brain of your choosing. IIRC you just add the Brain that you want to the checkout and it should automatically be discounted to be free”
I can verify this.

I do like concatenator and the mini. My other concatenative sampler is abandoned and no longer works, fortunately the datamind implementations are much better.
*lame 20 min one time demo on the mini though, prob will be skipping this developer...

This is not so.pekbro wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:07 pm *lame 20 min one time demo on the mini though, prob will be skipping this developer...
Just restart the app (think DAW restart might be required also but not 100% on that) and you get another 20 minutes.
That's indefinite if I am not mistaken.
We are all a unique vibration in a beautiful symphony of infinite creation

I don't know any other granulator in which one can load thousands of samples into a sample pool and then scan through that pool or modulate the sample selection with an LFO/Macro/sidechain with sample interpolation. Doing something similar in Falcon, CrusherX, HALion, Pigments whatever would simply be impossible, one could crossfade between different layers e.g. in Falcon/HALion but that's not the same.Ah_Dziz wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 6:38 pm I'm curious what is actually happening here that isn't already happening in many other granular synths.
