Will there be a boxed version? I’d love a hard copy of the user manual like the olden days where I had a shelf dedicated to NI manuals.

Just listened to some pad sounds on YouTube. Crazy good. Really great vibe.morphex wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 5:47 pm I love Absynth for its ability to create some of the most ethereal, alien, and overtly digital soundscapes imaginable. Also, keep in mind that it can be used as an effect plug-in as well.
For a number of years, I’ve used the Absynth AU in Logic Pro as a send effect. I especially like using it to process vocals. To me, the results are often like magic, even when compared to more recent VST’s.
So I’m definitely looking forward to the new version. And I hope that it’s more than just an update for recent machines and operating systems. There are some who don’t want it messed with, and think that it’s good enough as is. But I have higher hopes for version 6.
I’d love to see them continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible through synthesis, made possible by some revolutionary new features. I admit that’s a bit idealistic, but I’m still a dreamer!!![]()
First and foremost: We need great songs (again)

After a decade of pointlessly noodling with VST synths, I finally got serious about synthesis and sound design right around the time Absynth had begun to show its age. I always thought it was a really cool synth and I came really close making some sounds for it, but I got pulled into other projects. In retrospect, I think I have more appreciation for how wonderfully eccentric Absynth was. It was very deliberately made to be strange and mysterious and weird in all the right ways. It wasn't trying to be a swiss army knife. It wasn't trying to emulate anything. It was just this strange, exotic creature that made "living sounds". I'm really excited for its return.

Ok so what is everyone’s wish list?
By no means would all of these by necessary for me to upgrade but if I was to get my dream abysnth it would include:
-Enable Automation on parameters directly (like Omnisohere)
-MPE compatibility
-Some kind of resynthesis, ideally like Halion does it
-Multi-touch compatibility (in case Mac introduces macOS touch soon or I go back to windows)
-Maybe more than a single delay based effect at a time
-More flexible routing of the 3 channels (e.g. 3 osc each with a waveshapper/effect into a single per voice filter, or two in series)
That’s about it. This assuming resizable interface of course which is a pretty safe bet.

I starting to try to learn synthesis when absynth was ahead of its time in the early years, probably around v2. I acquired it when v3 came out and before that I had only used Reasons 1.0 subtractor and then a bunch of reaktor synths. But I didn’t know what I was doing, I just loaded presets and tweaked. So once I got absynth the things I’d always tweak were oscillator waveforms and multi-envelopes and whatever controls made obvious changes to the sound. But Absynth had this weird effect on me where I thought that for a synth to be any good it should have drawable envelopes and the ability to create your own waveforms etc. So I was never interested in more basic synths. It was actually I think the original Arturia minimoog that made me appreciate the joy of the simpler retro synths, then gforce, 303 emulations, Ableton operator, sylenth etc, and the flood gates opened and I got over comparing everything to absynth and I stopped caring about all those things that I thought synths needed.i couldn’t care less about multi-envelopes now however I do remember how many cool tricks absynth had for complex modulations and looking forward to diving back in all these years later when I now have some clue what I’m doing.Sound Author wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:11 pm After a decade of pointlessly noodling with VST synths, I finally got serious about synthesis and sound design right around the time Absynth had begun to show its age. So…. Omnisphere killer?

Have it not be developed by Native Instruments?

I am sure they still have some great people on their team.

Absynth was something I checked out back when I barely understood synthesis and so never really got under the hood.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:38 pm Ok so what is everyone’s wish list?

As far as wish list - after re reading Absynth 5 manual
1) flexible feedback routing like Massive X - I love feedback systems and being able to use Absynth effects stacked in feedback rather than just by single module would be killer and elevate the synth for its signature strangeness but also for physical modeling
2) resynthesis as mentioned above would be amazing
3) weird filters (not just adding ladder filters)
4) maybe more ways to introduce inharmonic content and or
5) audio rate oscillator interactions - I understand that we have FM and Ring mod but I don't think it's between osc lanes. That said this may not be overly necessary - especially if expanded feedback routing is a thing
Admittedly, I never did much with sampling in Absynth so maybe #4 on my list can be addressed that way

This is the wrong synth for that.

It wouldn't hurt though.

Absynth is not replaceable by those synths, not even hardly. Not knowing this but posting here is just a form of shitposting.dune_rave wrote: Thu Nov 27, 2025 1:01 am So when Absynth6 will be released , i will be able to layer Zebra3 and Omni3 + all my other synths in Unify2. Why the hell would i need Absynth6 anymore?
