For obvious reasons I don't want it go into too much detail on how the copy protection works, but the key file is unique to the machine (otherwise it could be copied and used anywhere, and would hence not be copy protected).

I don't want to know "how" the protection works, I want to know what type it is. In other words it's a Challenge Response after all and not a Key File... maybe I'm oldskool but a Key File is the "key" itself and should not have any other dependencies... just because you call the file V-Clip 2 creates a "Key File" doesn't change the fact that it is nothing other than a response file (key) that needs a challenge in order to be created.... it is a C/R DRM by definition....

I bought v1 and I also own other clippers.
Now I have a studio computer and three live machines (one main, one backup and one in preparation). If there is a sign that I can run into copy protection hassle I'd rather stick with what I have.
Clear copy protection info should be the first every developer should provide.

Changes include:

• Bugfix: V-Clip 2 may erroneously detect tampering in rare circumstances after the user attempts to unlock V-Clip 2.

• Bugfix: Changing presets on MacOS using logic or Pro Tools can sometimes cause the plugin to hang.

• Bugfix: Fixed a potential crash when restoring the plugin with the Multiband editor showing.

• Doubled the interval between the activation voice watermark (or silence) to make it easier to demo.

• Updated manual to include an entire section with details on the copy protection/authentication.

I am intending to be as transparent as possible with the copy protection, please let me know if you have any more questions.

I know the Free Suite has a Linux download, which is very cool.

There is a linux build but it's not well tested at the moment. I would recommend joining the discord (https://discord.gg/CfYArSdFjK) and I can send you a copy on there.

Changes include:

• Fix crackling/discontinuities that can occur when adjusting global wet dry knob while oversampling.

• Improved tamper detection.

• Fixed negative clipper wave type not being restored correctly in some circumstances on asymmetric mode.
