It would dilute the concept of the synth, though. I maintain my stance here, analog modelled filters are not needed everywhere.

My only wishlist will have been make the GUI bigger and make it so the three channels have their own outputs. #1 is almost a certainty. #2 isn't that big a deal but that's about it. Whatever Mr Clevinger will do will be correct in spirit, I don't need to offer any ideas.
I agree with ED about 'not the right synth for that'. Frankly I chafe a bit any time I see 'Absynth needs better filters'. That really misses the boat IME.

Absynth doesn’t necessarily need the best analog modeled filters however there is some room for improvement there. Like virus style screaming resonant overdriven filters never hurt.

I hope when Absynth 6 does launch it can have a brand new KVR thread, based soley upon what the plugin actually is, as opposed to what everyone thought it might be.faxinadu wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 7:04 pm A lot of stuff in this thread is not gonna age well in a few days![]()
Especially since this pre-release speculation thread is already so long and convoluted (currently 30 pages and counting).
In preparation thereof, would the OP kindly rename this thread to something perhaps more appropriate, like "Absynth 6 - Pre-Release Speculation Thread" or suchlike? So the actual realease thread doesn't get confused with this one?
I'd hate to have to navigate 30 or 40+ pages deep (by then) just to locate the details and discussions about the released plugin once it drops.
If the plugin is as great as many believe it to be, it deserves to be treated as such...

Nicer interface. MPE (and the ability to use only pressure for voice volume without an envelope interfering, one way or another). Some way to make it drone without holding a MIDI note would be nice.
It's honestly been ages since I used Absynth 5, so my memory of the details is quite fuzzy.

Love the idea of a drone switch - sustain all the way up and gate locked open.

I'm going with my pretty basic general 'desire'... that I can freeze or lock any/all segments/actions of its parameters/settings, so that when I load an existing preset, or one I am working on from scratch (init) and load a sample, what has been set or done will affect it (the sample) without reverting to anything other than what is loaded/set when I locked it. That 'feature' always makes me happy.vurt wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:41 pmsomething i cant quite put my finger on, but will know it when it happens. and i fully expect it to deliver![]()

and +1 on the: "rename -then- this thread"
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Mostly I'm going to be happy with a larger GUI, a different way than the diamond parameter things, maybe improvements in the sampling capabilities? and whatever Brian brings. MPE knowing NI seems like a long shot, but it would be cool to be surprised.
Absynth was the first softsynth that copied nothing in the hardware world, and the first softsynth that beyond samplers (which are/were IMO always better on the computer), proved what is possible with synth plugins. It still sounds unique, and those that don't get it, don't have to. Not everyone likes every flavor of ice cream FFS?

I have never witnessed a plugin developer drop the ball as hard and as permanently as AAS have with String Studio, it still does not do MPE. Guess what does though? the old version of String Studio tech AAS licensed to Ableton for Live as Tension.liquidsound wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 5:52 am At least NI is doing something with this old gem![]()

So far only their new modular synth does MPE, because F*ck you, that's why.
