I'm so glad to see someone saying this. I've owned Zebra since it was a foal, but I've never created a patch from ...err...scratch. Sure, I know enough (and I've read the manual enough) to edit pretty much everything in a patch if necessary, but I always start by finding a preset which is close to the sound I want. I guess I'm just not cut out to be a sound designer - and I'm fine with that, not many people are good at everything. But I have to admit I was starting to get a little anxious about being overwhelmed by the complexity of Zebra 3, at the same time as looking forward to it immensely.

I downloaded Zebralette 3 yesterday, mainly to test out the new license card (which worked just fine, btw) and I'm happy to say I was stunned by some of the patches. Didn't even look at the editor (sorry I will soon, promise) but I did have a quick look at the manual, which IMO can't be faulted. It's obvious to me just how much effort has gone into making some pretty deep concepts at least accessible.

So now I'm just excited about Zebra 3 all over again, and comfortable with my preset dependency

Making music and experiencing joy during the process is what actually matters. I do think that Zebra is one of those synths that is much more accessible than people think. Urs designed it to be as simple, or as complex as you could want.

It does require an initial investment of time to design your own patches from scratch. Some people don’t have that time, or interest in programming. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Zebra works as an excellent preset player and synth. It’s a lot of fun!!

I'm trying to download Zebralette 3 to test out this license card but when I click on the link, all I get is Zebra legacy. So can somebody give me a link to Zebralette 3 because I can't find it.

Thanks. Well now I have another problem. I went to the license file page and requested my licenses to test the license card and nothing has arrived.

This is what I suspect. I bought Zebra 2 long ago using a different email address that I no longer have access to. I thought I had U-he reregister me under my new email but I may be wrong.

In either case, I can't get my licenses.

I tried zebralette 3 free and it a messy plugin to play with, I would not purchase the full version !!! Each time I try it, I'm so frustrated, that I close my daw and think to myself, again one hour lost with this frustrating thing ! I watched several vids on YouTube but none of them helped me to understand what are those guides, morph, used for ? The manual is not helpful too !

Look, it is not for everyone, and that is absolutely okay. Not everyone has the time, patience or ambition to learn such a vast array of tools.

One of the reasons Zebralette 3 exists is to give people a free entrance into some of the more challenging concepts of Zebra 3. But also, if even this very focussed plug-in doesn't work for them, it's pretty safe to say that Zebra 3 isn't for them, either.

That said, if people don't open the large editors, they can still work in Zebralette 3 pretty much the same way they could in Zebralette 2, but more consistently and more precisely.

I think some video tutorials for the oscillator editors would be very nice (Im trying to wrap my head around it currently, and the manual is not clearing all the confusion ).

We will certainly do quite a few videos. But we can only really start when the UI is finalised. We hope to finalise it in January.

We have started doing some general videos about "Zebra 3 and what you can do with it" where some changes to the UI do not matter as much. The video about License Cards is one of those.

Indeed, I think it is so confusing that nobody catches the logical behind that plugin and is able to make a comprehensive video !!!

Unfortunately the UI has changed a lot since then. So I'm not sure how difficult or easy it is to apply my old loosely made tutorials to the current Zebralette or Zebra.

Oh sorry, I take that back. I could've sworn those editor tutorials were using the recent UI, but I was wrong.

Those tutorials are also far from ideal... I just quickly slapped them together to either help my own team understand what we're doing, or provide an overview in addition to other information.

Good tutorials would be more structured and probably more example orientated. But I hardly had any examples to start off from.
