You may already know about AnalogX and the great music software. I recommend the MaxMem prog. Just when all seems hopeless, I tap the icon on the task bar, and my computer "goes to 11". I recommend the left-click option be set to aggressive.

I have MaxMem in my start up. It gives me a constant view of memory usage.

thanks for that link! I had the little vocoder and the funny say-it for a while but never got to the website again. nice other little tools too!
