..and there went my hopes for a silicone sister with a manager, mister..maybe in Absynth 7..*sigh*
We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

With NI, we can never declare victory too soon. The last thing that comes to mind when I think of Absynth is this kind of trendy, glitchy messy sounds. These teasers (if really related to Absynth 6) for me are still not reassuring. Trust me, NI CAN screw that up!blacklightmartin wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 12:13 am
The newest one is about 6 hours old and is giving some glimpses of the UI (don't get your hopes up though - you need to pause the video and even then you'll only get a very vague idea... but still better than nothing!)

Well the multipoint envelopes do lend themselves to that if that's what you want.Neon Breath wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 2:08 am The last thing that comes to mind when I think of Absynth is this kind of trendy, glitchy messy sounds.
Evolving patterns, cinematic pads and great bass sounds are what I ended up doing mostly. Plus leads, and those will probably get a huge lift from MPE capabilities if it has them now.

If you don't have Bitwig and FL doesn't have a feedback effects slot in its delay, you can use Blue Cat's Late Replies. It's an 8 tap delay and each delay has slots for built in effects (including a comb filter) which can also host plugins.jtsterays wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 1:25 amNah I don't use Bitwig, FL doesn't have a proper resonator, I'm just after that part.zerocrossing wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 12:32 amWhat's your DAW? If you have Bitwig, you can get that kind of thing by putting a resonator in the FB FX slot of one of it's delay devices.jtsterays wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 5:31 pmCould you recommend alternatives to Objeq delay? So far only their new modular synth does MPE, because F*ck you, that's why.![]()

Version 5 was amazing for sure. Now after Serum 2, Zebra 3 in near future and Omnisphere 3 we can still.hope the the unique futures of Absynth 6. Who knows... let's wait anyway and we will see

For the most part, Absynth 6 hasn’t changed all that much from version 5. Of course, it looks different, but the core synthesis architecture – a hybrid semi-modular engine that combines subtractive, FM, sample-based, and granular methods – remains the same. It’s still got that revolutionary 68-point envelope generator, the classic intelligent preset generation Mutator section, and effects like Aetherizer and Cloud Filter.
There is something new, too, though. Absynth 6 has modern expressiveness, with full MPE and polyphonic aftertouch. It’s also got surround sound support, with true multichannel surround spatialization and MTS-ESP support for global microtuning, plus new harmonic systems, as well as per-effect surround control in the effects.
AI-Powered Preset Browsing
The new Absynth Preset Explorer is the biggest change. Presented as a visual map, it uses AI to analyze the timbral traits of all the presets and arrange them into a map, much like Algonaut’s Atlas 2 and XO from XLN Audio.

So it's a skin update with AI preset browser. Oh well.. I'm just glad it's available in modern format and thus not dead. However, as Absynth 5 works flawlessly on my system, I won't be upgrading unless the price is silly money (like 29€ or so).

I think they missed the point if for them the AI browser is the "thing" come on....cryophonik wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 5:43 amFor the most part, Absynth 6 hasn’t changed all that much from version 5. Here we go, imo:
- Totally revamped UX making it smooth and not cryptic to work with, gone are those weird up/down ticks and things have proper knobs/sliders
- Design itself is fresh and brought to modern look
- New improved ladder filter
- Improved HQ mode in cloud
- Improved envelope workflow
- Revamped macro system which actually makes sense to work with now
- MPE and PolyAT
- VST3, ARM and future-proofing
- TONS of new samples including finally a lot of looping samples, amazing as oscs
- TONS of new amazing presets
- GUI resize
- AI Browser

The biggest thing to understand is the major technical hurdles of VST3 support, ARM support and implementing a whole new UI and UX system is now achieved.
To ask what other huge things this release includes is wrong thinking I think, the question for everyone expecting even more should be what is the future roadmap.
From here on, it is much easier for NI to decide to continue to invest.
