Right! I was hoping for a more reasonable pricing, now it will have to wait

Choosing a modulation source via a dropdown menu is too 2010s and makes it exhausting for me. It's the reason Omnisphere is more like a preset machine rather than a sound design tool because I hate that concept now.

Can you run 5 next to 6, or does 6 replace 5.

I mean, it's not as if Drag-and-drop has existed for decades or anything...Fornicras wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:34 am Choosing a modulation source via a dropdown menu is too 2010s and makes it exhausting for me. You can run them side by side - obviously Absynth 5 needs Rosetta though on Apple Silicon Macs and isn't a VST3, whereas Absynth 6 is VST3 but not VST2 (on Mac - don't know about Windows but I doubt it comes as VST2)

New UI looks very usable, though I do miss the green background somewhat.
Super happy about MPE, especially if Brian implemented it as well as he did in Plasmonic. Though I wonder if it has modulation curve per expression, like equator and serum. That’s the killer mpe feature.
Bit steep for the upgrade, probably wait until k16, hopefully thats soonish! doubt I’d be able to wait until half price k16.

Off topic, but right clicking something in Omnisphere to modulate it is not one of life's worst chores.Fornicras wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:34 am Choosing a modulation source via a dropdown menu is too 2010s and makes it exhausting for me. How do people drag and drop into a plugin window from their browser when the plugin window disappears when the browser is selected? I e never been able to do that. Or do you mean from the DAW browser? I would like that too.Caine123 wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:27 am is drag and drop samples into the sampler/granular osc possible?

I know I am focusing on the really important things here, but can anyone explain to me what that weird, thin apostrophe between "Absynth" and "6" in the top image on NI's Absynth page is supposed to mean?
Nowhere else on that page is "Absynth 6" spelled as "Absynth´6"... Stuff like that can drive me bonkers!

I think this is one area to still improve a lot.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:57 amHow do people drag and drop into a plugin window from their browser when the plugin window disappears when the browser is selected? Also a menu/selectors on the gui itself to scroll the samples it comes with instead of opening an OS dialog each time which is a total mood killer.

Yeah, they priced it above impulse level.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:42 am Bit steep for the upgrade, probably wait until k16, hopefully thats soonish! doubt I’d be able to wait until half price k16.
So the last 5 Komplete bundles have all been 2 years gap give or take a month, which would land us September 26 for the next one. You'd then get half price on that almost certainly in Summer 27.
As for the individual plugin half price upgrade deals, the fastest gap between the release of a new product and a half price upgrade was 7 months for Kontakt 7. So if Absynth 6 is to get a half price upgrade in June 26 it would be the quickest they have ever done it. But personally I think it's plausible.
In summary, best guesses:
DEC '26 - Absynth £89.
JUNE '26 - Absynth £44.50 if we are very lucky.
SEPT '26 - Absynth in Komplete 16 (full price upgrade)
DEC '26 - Absynth £44.50
JUNE '27 - Abysnth in Komplete 16 (half price upgrade)
BUT ONE MORE THING - they have given out gift vouchers for most of the previous Christmases:
2020 – YANGQIN + $25 voucher
2021 – Play Series: TWENTY FIVE + 25% voucher
2022 – HYPHA + 25 € / $25 voucher and a separate 50% iZotope voucher.
2023 – US$50 voucher when you spend $100 or more
2024 – Holiday Gift 2024 (Leap expansion and a $25 voucher)
Usually these vouchers are semi-useless as they can't be combined with already discounted products, and the discounts are usually better. However, there has never been a restriction on a recently released full price project as far as I've seen - and Absynth 6 right now is of course full price.
But who knows. This is unusual releasing something new so close to Christmas, they might make an exception, or they could do the minimum $100 spend. Any which way, hanging on a couple of weeks just in case might be worthwhile.

I don't get it. $99 for a new GUI? Are they serious?
