- Kawai K5000
- Korg DW8000 (not Full Bucket)
- New England Digital Synclavier II (not Arturia)
- Rhodes Chroma Polaris
And I would most like to see this plugin:
- Oberheim Matrix 6
And a better Matrix-12 than Arturia's

I had a poly-800 too, the very 1st hardware synth I bought in early 1984Nug Wrangler wrote: Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:31 amhttps://www.fullbucket.de/music/fury800.htmlplanetearth wrote: Wed Aug 17, 2016 7:42 am I'd like a Roland D-50 (or D-10), and my trusty, old Korg Poly-800!

If anyone does, I hope they won't emulate the envelopes. Basically still the only thing that keeping me from getting a Kurz again.

Right now there is very little I am interested in from the Past Since i have the sounds that i have been interested in from various HW companies and other companies in vst form.
My only wish is that We will get the Soon to be Released Mod-X As a Vst for the masses or the that they sell us the Montage Vst for everyone..
I don't need it but i would buy it if i could

Arturia actually gave it a try, not sure how accurate though (Overstayer).

I’d like the Sub Phatty in a plugin. Maybe the Mariana might imitate it. I should give that demo a try.

Roland SH-1. It was my first ever synth, would love to see that recreated as it was, no FX, no polyphony, no arp or seq. That was the first keyboard I learned to play on. Good times.

Plenty of requests that are already covered by various "Monster Synths" (U-HE, kv331 audio, Spectrasonics).
For example: the Andromeda doesn't have a dedicated VSTi. But there are sample based solutions in UVI, and in fact... Spetrasonics Omnisphere has an Andromeda Sound Set since v2.5 IIRC. Sadly IKM's Syntronik was discontinued.
Else... some random selections from recent commentary.
(no, I am not kidding - it is an official Yamaha MOTIF/MODX hybrid)
...or get the "MONTAGE" in hardware form and the "Montage ESP" VSTi on top
Roland Corp (sadly) has the Roland Cloud (with VSTi that are mono-timbral and can vanish any day now, because "code can not be maintained" -- RIP again, Sound Canvas), and/or Zenology Pro.
E-MU once had the Emulator X (the Kontakt version or other synth based versions by DigitalSynthFactory just aren't the same devices, sorry!), although the "Z-Filter" concept is definitely covered by U-HE (Filterscape) and Minimal Audio (Morph EQ). And as mentioned in this thread... there is a modular device by Rossum Electro-Music (the Morpheus Stereo Morphing Z Plane Filter)
Yamaha technically (and practically) has HALion.
I am not counting the so called "decapping" projects (emulation) - there is a lot of movement there as well. Or certain old discontinued VSTi that were once shipped with games or Karaoke software (Yamaha comes to mind).
Else, in that ballpark... AIR Music Tech XPAND!2 or SonicCat (formerly Luxonix) Purity.
Else... sign me up for a Kurzweil K2x00... the original. The project that once surfaced here on KVR never came to fruition. The K20xx (new series) does come with a VSTi control software now, but is not standalone like the Yamaha Montage M ESP.
I don't care about the envelopes... I just wish I had the synthesis engine in VSTi form.
Since others brought up the Microwave XT and Q... yeah... technically that exists (if you know how). Although Waldorf themselves ported the Microwave... and again, "Blofeld VSTi" covers a lot of ground of those as well.
Also... can anybody PLEASE revive Siegfried Kullmann's SQ8L?
That would be amazing.
Nothing against Arturia (aside from having to bleed more money for an individual VSTi and pushing you towards the Suite -- same deal with NI Komplete), but I miss the OG UI that forces you to think/work different.
TL;DR:
A lot has happened in the software realm since the necro of this thread (September 2016 jumping to December 2025). We're dining exceptionally well at this day and age.
You just need to look around and ultimately decide for yourself if it does suffice "what is available", or if you want to have a 1:1 port of something. Developers can't please everyone.

Steinberg / Yamaha HALion 7

Blamsoft VK-1 Viking Synthesizer, also U-HE DIVA
Then you have Arturia and TAL Software as options, even U-HE with DIVA can get there. Or Roland Corp themselves with what is available in "Zenology Pro".
Arturia
Steinberg/Yamaha HALion 7 (if you know how to route things), Tracktion F.'em or the upcoming Sheafmusic SWAY.
Korg has the Korg Collection.

I'm still waiting on Nils Schneider's "K4" endeavors that he wanted to do after the K1. It's been a while silent since his blog posts in March 2021 - but we did get updates for the K1 (last one was September 2022).
Not in VSTi, sadly... unless you want some of the pianos (PC2/PC3), then there is (among others) UVI "Key Suite".

Closest you can get is the "Blofeld VSTi" for the time being... who knows what Waldorf does next.jobinho wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 2:43 am Waldorf Iridium - its engine and sound is not well replicated by any software I've used, Omnisphere etc
