But you got me intrigued. I will have a go at it and see if it feels useful!

The Sound on sound article is really a reference.
This one is also interesting : https://www.baratatronix.com/blog/casca ... -synthesis
I think that if we had a "cymb" model (featuring several square oscillators under the hood), with a "detune" knob (changing their harmonic relationship), it would allow for hours of experimentation, fast cymbal synthesis creation, and a lot of fun

Ok it sounds quite cool. It stays.

That being said, I tried to get some detune thing going using the pitch knob (I don't want to introduce another knob) and I didn't like the sonic possibilities it gave me compared what actually having a pitch knob gives me. So I'll keep it like that

I will have to do some tweaking (some knobs have other ranges than they should, for instance decay (it goes up to 2s and I probably want it up to 10, with logarithmic scale) and stutter length, which I also want to rename...) and beta testing, but I think things are starting to feel quite good.

Got some nice feedback from sinkmusic, so here are some new features:
- named sounds
- mute/solo per drumpad
- resizable UI
- trigger "pad light" on sequencer/midi data

Recorded a quick demo video, didn't showcase too much though

Ok, some new features:
- Smart Pad Interactions: Separated Editing from Triggering.
- Click Pad Body: Triggers the sound (audition).
- Click Pad Header/Name: Selects the sound for editing in the main panel without triggering it.
- Live Envelope Animations: The ADSR envelopes (Pitch, Noise, Amp) now feature a real-time animated dot that traces the curve as the sound plays, letting you visualize the exact decay and release stages.
- Signed Mac builds. \o/

CLAP and VST3 work correctly in Reaper Windows 10. Standalone as well.

Thank you! I'll see if I can test the linux build myself before actually making the official launch.
For what it's worth, I'll probably create a new thread then

I found a couple of bugs with the velocity modulations, I will fix and release new versions.
Also, I'm now building installers instead of just supplying the files. Makes sense, no?

New version (0.9.0) out on website!
Changelog - Smackbox V2 Beta Update
Major Features:
Changelog - Smackbox V2 Beta Update
- Native Installers: Installation is now effortless with official installers for macOS (.pkg), Windows (.exe), and Linux (.deb). No more manual file copying!
- Velocity Modulation Engine: Fixed an issue where velocity-to-decay (Vel->Decay) was not being applied correctly. Modulation is now sample-accurate and responds dynamically to every note velocity.
- Bipolar Modulation: Corrected parameter scaling for modulators like Vel->Osc to ensure they operate in a true bipolar range (-100% to +100%).
- UI Clarity: Renamed the "Pitch" velocity knob to "p.Env" to clearly indicate it modulates pitch envelope amount, not base pitch.
- Waveform Selection: Fixed a regression where changing the oscillator waveform (Triangle, Saw, Square) had no effect; all waveforms now switch correctly.
- Parameter Updates: Resolved internal logic where certain parameters would be ignored if they were the only value changed.
