Maybe they will have time to modernize fm8. Sadly if they somehow accomplish this, I don't care , because in the meantime many other great fmsynths was born and I will not go back to fm8.

FL Studio has a separate option for allowing dropped files onto plugin GUIs, in its plugin wrapper. Maybe it works then?
thanks, doesnt seem FL related ...

Also didn't work in Bitwig or Ableton Live.

Is there somewhere that it works?

Yes - I'm coming back, because I like to explore new tools. And my exploration soon comes to an end. Absynth6 has too much horizontal sliders, I just hate it - I'm really near to uninstall the whole stuff....

I just read 50 pages like a science fiction story, to find out at the end that the UI has been updated. Damn.

Upd No, although of course, considering the specific controls design of v5, this is also good news ok, but for 99 bucks idk, will see

Aha! there you are. My email conversation seemed to finish abruptly around 16:00 GMT. I thought I was on my own until tomorrow 😉
I've loaded the folders from Absynth 5 in exactly the same place as you showed me through email...

I'm not trying to be difficult or anything, but I don't think that, even if it had worked, I could reasonable have expected a tiny X character, with no accompanying help or tool tip, to have been the missing link!

When the conversation finished abruptly this afternoon, after becoming increasingly difficult to follow (possible due to language differences...), it became more and more as if you were trying to evade the issue, which, naturally made me a little suspicious.

Also, please note that, at no stage did I directly accuse you of false pretexts, only that this had started to occur to me as a possible factor. Please don't put words in my mouth...

99 bucks?? I think my Massive update was $49. I'll wait for another clearance sale.

After the Massive X backlash, repeating that mistake in Absynth 6 is unreal. It really proves they’ve learned absolutely nothing. NI.. honestly.. completely hopeless :dog:
Not exposing parameters for DAW automation is clearly a deal breaker. Waiting for Absynth 7, then.

Mate, we are not robots, if you do not get an answer for a couple of hours, and you get suspicious, that's on you.

I didn't exactly understand if now it works for you or not?

And why litter this thread with your specific issue when we are already discussing by email, let's continue there if you still need help, and yes take into account we sometimes sleep and do human things in between being online :)

If it would allow to enable more then one effect in effects section and fx plugin and reorder them, it would be no brainer to upgrade for 99 Euro.

machinesworking wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 4:00 pm About to purchase, the upgrade price is exactly what could be expected from every other NI products upgrade price for years now, and of course people complain. Seriously what do people expect? NI have at this point a very straightforward routine with pricing, intro at around 200, upgrades 99, then 6 to 9 months later Komplete comes out, 6 months later half price. You either wait, our you pay $50 "extra" to upgrade now. Personally I don't want to wait maybe a year to upgrade.
Exactly. Meanwhile, a 20 year old u-He synth still sells for $189, and no one bats an eye. $199/99 is a lot for a synth, but it depends on its value. For me, it’s not worth it if its parameters are not made available for automation in the DAW. This is because I drive a Kontrol MK3 keyboard, and DAW automation parameters are what NI uses to provide native integration for controllers without the need for Komplete/NKS. This has become integral to my workflow. If they change that, I will get it.

Has someone a 25$ voucher from NI for a poor composer of strange sounds?
Would be welcome (and increases your Karma level!).

Post

Yeah would have liked to see more parameters exposed. With these 16 Macros only, it's Massive X again. The keyboard controller tweaks for any given patch are restricted to the 16 macros.

Post

Just tried the demo. Awesome sounds, pristine and inspiring! That's my verdict.
First and foremost: We need great songs (again)

Absynth 5 is just the same - you assign params internally to macros - macros are what is exposed to the host for host automation (plus a master envelope).
