soundfont woes

I've been exporting soundfonts from chainer. Unfortunately that doesn't include any loop point information. I downloaded a demo of Awave studio which works great but I don't really want to shell out $129 just to edit a few loop points. To get round this I bought a second hand SBlive card so that I could run Vienna Studio, but for some reason it doesn't recognise soundfonts created by Chainer....
does anyone know what would cause this and how to get around it?

forget it folks, the creator of chainer has told me that the SF2 files exported do not conform exactly to the normal SF2 specification - which would account for the problem. I guess I'll have to build them myself from the exported wavs instead

Extreme Sample Converter has the best looper I've seen, if you decide to loop them yourself. And it's very affordable.

For single-file editing to set loop points, I use EZ Editor (by Zero-X, distributed by Image-Line). It's inexpensive and easy to use. It could be tedious to use to loop numbers of waves.
Most of the time if I have keymapped and looped waves, I make them into soundfonts with VSampler. I have EXSC but I've never had to work with unlooped waves in it before.
