Yes, It appears old is gold... YET when I talk about using a 20 year-old soft synth peeps on here say it's not 'fat enough' when it's way fatter than anything used in 60s-70s music which they value so highly (and I do too...)...
Goes to show that actual music has nuthin' to do with farting out 'fat sounds'... If it did then bluegrass, ethnic, folk, country & many more would be classified as shit...
No, today's crap is shit with the 5,000+ genres where everyone must have their own egotistical genre or they will throw a tantrum with some so ridiculous & non-musical... Music is derived from 'MUSE' to sooth... I'm sure there must be a genre for striking a metal trash can lid with a dildo (no more instruments needed man, because it's a genre!)...

My musical taste is old enough to have been devastated by John Lennon's murder. December 8, 1980, the world became a darker place.

bogus etymology alert.
The Ancient Greek Foundation: μουσική (mousikē)
The genesis of ‘music’ lies in the Greek word μουσική (mousikē), encompassing not just auditory art but a broader spectrum of intellectual and artistic pursuits. Mousikē included poetry, dance, and song, all considered to be under the patronage of the Muses, the goddesses of inspiration in Greek mythology.
bogus definition alert. (whether it was actually meant to be 'sooth' (not actually a verb, means real or true) or just a mispelling of 'soothe' (verb, to calm or placate))

Nope, Music & muse an easy one to deduce... A child could do that... And yes, soothing, do you think they played punk or acid rock with their instruments?
Also these 'online' definitions of music have changed alot, try a 70 year-old paperback dictionary... All this 'wikishitia' crap is quite bogus best not to use as an 'oracle'...
They also did not have 'fat sounds' which seem to be so valued by those who cannot make anything decent layering simple sounds mostly for a lack of musical ability... Their songs all sound the same you never hear a country tune then a jazz tune then a rock tune, etc... They rely on that 'fatness' & massive FX to 'mask' the simple lullabies so many which are based on simple triads very few using compound chords... This is why I dig up music made 20+ years ago as you could not mask a lack of ability using 'fat sounds' & piled FX... Take any tune & take off all the fX & see how it sounds, quite sobering...
This guy on amiga using just 4 tracks made better than most do now-

Yeah, that is indeed your problem, you deduce like a child instead of using actual facts. Its amusing.eLawnMust wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:31 am Nope, Music & muse an easy one to deduce... A child could do that...
By the way, you shouldnt capitalise 'music' as its not a proper noun, whereas you would capitalise 'Muse' if using as a proper noun. Uncapitalised, 'muse' can be noun or verb, but later than original greek context, and the verb has never meant 'soothe.'
So you mispelled 'soothe' then as part of your bogus definition of 'muse'. And since you used 'sooth' as a verb, that makes it another bogus etymology alert while you're at it.And yes, soothing, do you think they played punk or acid rock with their instruments?
The root of the verb 'muse' is completely different from the root of the proper noun 'Muse' (or later usage as a noun 'muse') and has nothing to do with music either.
So, while you're musing on that, what 'they' are you referring to?

I don't bother with music streamers. I have my own CDs ripped to MP3, on my iPhone and an MP3 player.
I'd never ever give my money to something like Spotify.
