OK I get what you're saying but bringing up Arturia and U-He I immediately think if 20 year old Moog Modular with hardly any changes, or the fact that Zebra 3 has been put on the back burner for 15 odd years. The fact is every company prioritizes what sells, loading an old piece of software with loads of new features means you have to be certain that it's going to make x amount of cash. NI loaded Absynth with exactly what I would expect them to after saying it's depreciated and deciding against it, it's not an untypical upgrade for any synth really. The complete GUI change would be very costly, I'm sure that if that hadn't been needed we would see more changes, but there are still a lot of changes.zerocrossing wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 2:58 pm Adding more effects slots, filter options, stereo spread, etc, isn't a Massive X type rewrite. Developers like U-He, Arturia and Xfer Records add these types of things for free. I'm not even asking for free. The one new filter type they added isn't very good, either.
Plus, again, I don't get the need for more FX slots? It's far too easy already to drench a sound in waveshapers, granular FX, filters, modulation, and the last in line delays. I could definitely see even more control over the straight sampler and granular sampler, glad they improved the sampler etc.
