How to make a simple line level parallel effect loop?

I want something that I can use in the effect loop of a guitar amp or between a preamp and a power amp, which makes it possible to run a direct signal paralell to a signal with effects which can be mixed in with the direct signal as much as I want
There are several reasons for this. The most important is to avoid the decrease of dynamic response you get when using digital effects, another is the mixing of a dry signal with for example a wet signal using unusual EQ-settings or for example an IR-loader which distorts the signal. I have found the latter to make the result fuller and more interesting when used moderately. More subjectively I find parallel effect loops more controllable and better sounding

Or a Y-cable?
An idiot on Set Theory:

There is this: https://www.ehx.com/products/tri-parallel-mixer/

I just built a buffered mult and an active mixer into a hammond enclosure for this kind of thing. I don't need the extra bells and whistles. If you are not inclined to DIY but want a more modular approach, you might consider these:

I had the Tri Parallel Mixer, it distortet the signal out even when no effects were used so I returned it and decided on getting my money returned. I have a Switchblade Pro on order, wouldn't this work just as well as the Tri Parallel Mixer?justin3am wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 8:45 pm There is this: https://www.ehx.com/products/tri-parallel-mixer/

I have the Summing Amp on order as well, and have the Switchblade Plus, wont this do the same as the buffered splitter when in A+B mode? I would like to control how the signals are divided though, not just split themIf you are not inclined to DIY but want a more modular approach, you might consider these:
