Thats great but I just bought Tassman recently - I hope there's a substantial crossgrade. And does that mean Tassman is no longer being developed?

(I hope it has some sort of model morphing like Sculpture though)

I doubt they'll stop developing Tassman; its the engine they're using to make stuff like Lounge Lizard et al. They're just following NI's lead in making specific, tailored instruments using the same core engine.

I'd guess its either a Clavinet or a drawbar organ.

Somehow the words "Cutting Edge" and Clavinet/Drawbar Organ just don't seem to go together. :hihi:

I think it's the virtual kazoo we're all waiting for.

Depends on whether you think 'cutting edge' goes with 'physical modelling' or not.

But there aint a 'name' PM'd VST clavinet out there that I'm aware of(*), but Im sure there's a few people would want one after Logic got the ED6 or whatever it was.

And drawbar organs seem to be another staple of the 'non-synthy' brigade.

Remember, AAS have made a fairly firm reputation with Loung Lizard, it would make sense to appeal to the same kinda market....

But we'll see. Still dont expect them to drop Tassman though.

I see - my mistake. I was thinking by "new cutting edge physical modelling product" they meant they were going in a new direction (possibly as response to Sculpture) and didn't stop to consider that it might simply be a subset of their existing product. Silly me.

Well a decent replacement for EVD6 would be good - though tbh the Clavinets in Tassman are still not as good as the EVD6 so if it's based on those it will need to add extra features (as LL has done for the Tassman based EP's)

I'd love Tassman to have the morphing features Scuplture has though. The closest I can get at the moment is to use Reaktor's morphing in Steampipe.

And the quote is from where?

A page announced on the front page of Applied Acoustics website, funnily enough.

looks like the AAS site:

it HAS to be the modelled cymbal set I've been waiting for!

It had better be spot-on and bugfree from the beginning, because Aas does not do non-paid updates.

Anyone think this PM mystery product could be the long awaited Yamaha VL-1 killer?

False.
