My number two song is my own track. My number one song is a two minute ambient piece from someone that I don't know. All but three of my songs are less than three minutes. This means that they are played more often because they are short and in many playlists of ambient music that I play. If I sort by length instead. There are only four tracks that I regularly select. It really only shows that I listen to ambient much more than anything else on Spotify.
Also, since I don't use spotify on my phone, I have no idea how old my music taste is, I suppose ancient.
How old is your music taste? Spotify will tell you, though you may not like it

I've never used it. Seems like to do so means downloading something. I don't need to do that to listen to music.
the Wiki has "the basic features are free with advertisements and limited control, while additional features, such as offline listening and commercial-free listening, are offered via paid subscriptions"
Hard pass.

I don't know of anything before Palestrina I could say is 'to my taste' enough to use the phrase, so I'd say from 16th c to today.
it does seem like the only use for it for an artist is they're needing to be highly commercial (in the first place one needs regular distribution to even hope to get on there) so it's going to exclude too much on these bases for me. It represents the worst of late stage unfetterred capitalism afaic.
