Wait til you meet BONES.

Okay, now I regret posting my suggestion. I don't feel gaslighted or treated in a condescending way. Asking for an example why more than 4 MSEG's are needed before allocating time/money to it, is absolutely justified in my opinion. If anything, I see it as an opportunity. It's a fair offering that leaves all possibilities open and im grateful for that.

Hehehe filterfm runs at more than samplerate…

Hopefully my UI suggestions on page 12 don't get lost in all the snowflakery that followed.

:hyper: That guy is quite a character. I will say this, he's definitely firm in his convictions.

No worries. Once support gets less hectic, the team will collect all suggestions and bug reports.

PBM alert. PBM alert.

Urs any chance for a waveshaper that uses the same spline editor in the future? I know you can do it with Osc FX, but it's not the same because you can't do it post filter, effects, bus, etc...

Some of this looks like "armchair developers" to me. Too many times I've watch this make other pluggins become mired in its own technical debt, implode into vapor, or become homogeneous with every other synth on the market. I prefer to see what evolves from the developer in new ways. Balance between the classic theory and abstract yet unrealized.
If those "armchair developers" get so indignant about it not fitting their desires, then maybe they could just go code their own instead of trying to fit everything into a limited perception.

And I know that opinion will trigger the usuals into several pages of hair splitting...
Just keep doing what you're doing Urs. It does pull some of us up and forward.
(Still hoping for Okapi 1 though. ;) )

While I am able to understand your opinion on the concept of Zebra, I think with this statement you are noticeably wrong. I can not see how e.g. the concepts of Phase Plant do sacrifice either workflow or especially depth. So having curves and LFO shape tables, each able to modulate everything with everything, freely remapable and retriggerable by everything does not offer depth? Sorry but it seams like, you have some blind spots on that.
Phase Plant does not have any kind of oscillator FX and that's where a lot of Zebra's power comes from.

Oscillator FX are not just added extras they are incredibly deep ways of sculpting the sound. The implementation of oscillator FX in Zebra is probably the deepest of any synth I've come across.

Take for instance the Delta X FX. It's a type of FM modulation with 6 different transfer modes, 8 different configurations and the ability to swap the carrier or modulator. So this Oscillator FX alone has 96 different combinations.

Then there's the map o matic that can apply the curves or guides of the oscillators to the phase of the waveform or the gain of the harmonics. This has four modes and since it uses the Curves or the guides you can use the morph function of the curves you can morph between them independently of the morphing of the wave itself.

There are 21 total oscillator fx and you can use two per oscillator.

Then you can use the product of that oscillator as a modulator for things like Filter FM or the modulator or carrier for the FM oscillator.

Phase Plant has very good FM but it doesn't anything remotely approaching the amount of sonic manipulation that the oscillators in Zebra have with their FX.

The power of Zebra 3 isn't in the same kinds of places you'll find in the megasynths. They kind of brute force their way by just having more of everything. Zebra's approach is to localise more to the oscillator itself and give you an embarrassing amount of options.

That's why saying Zebra is "limited" is kind of ridiculous.

All synths will have their strengths and weaknesses. That said, the osc effects in Zebra 3 are pretty amazing. The fact that there are so many great ways to manipulate the oscs is IMO Zebra biggest strength.

Oscillator effects are like the Hydrasynth's mutants on steroids.

So which VST "sounds" the best between Phase Plant, Serum 2, and Zebra 3?

Please ask this in a separate thread, this would just generate pages of useless arguments, clogging up the info the U-he devs are trying to gather.

I absolutely love Zebralette 3 and so this is just amazingly satisfying to faff around with. Yet to encounter any major issues although the "Burn" module tanks my CPU instantly. Must be awesome but I wouldn't know 😎

Never used Zebra before so routing questjon: how do I actually change the routing of oacillatora/filters etc? And what is the logic which governs how routing is predetermined? I assumed each lane would just run in parallel unless I changed this but that doesn't seem to be the case, I instantiate a new filter into lane 2 and oscillators in lane 1 are prerouted into it. Help!

Anyway, i wish I hadn't demoed it because it's going to need buying. Do we know how long the intro offer lasts?

billinder33 wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 4:23 pmI would definitely not have a large, persistent routing section carving out the middle vertical third of the screen.
Then it's not Zebra anymore.
billinder33 wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 4:23 pmYou might be able to get both module and FX lanes into the top third of the screen, but I would likely make them tab-enabled so you are either looking at one or the other.
This would be really bad.

Hell no!
