ED: I'm going to weed out some of the step specific stuff that might confuse other folks if they try a later installer per dvdvelde request - since a new installer is coming out. This is a once in a lifetime happening - I've never deleted posts before.

Ok Here It Is! (Slightly Transformed)

The New Setup Package can now be Downloaded from www.curioza.com (under download)

Instructions;
The downloaded AAMS.zip file contains 2 install packages;

1. AAMSunpackerRevisionA.exe
2. AAMSunpackerRevisionB.exe

You can use both unpackers to install AAMS!

First use RevisionA (This one is sufficient for most users it contains the original setup).

If your computer asks you to re-boot continuesly, use the second package RevisionB! (This package is without the main setup and drops the files on location).

Let me know and Have FUN!

dvdvelde wrote:Shamanix ; If you dont give me more info, i cannot help you. Did the install finish ? Did you find AAMS in your startup menu ? Doesn't it start ? Tell me more then this. Did you download the latest version from my site ?
The Install finished fine, didn't ask for reboots, and everything is in the right dir (installed in default directories, enlish XP SP2 so no weird program files directory)
Startup? Do you meen Start Menu, yes its in there.
AFAIK I downloaded the latest version, the one where you said you updated the installer.
Anyway I wrote my system specs down once, but I don't think you missed that post.
So here I go again:
English Windows XP SP2
Gigabyte motherboard with nForce2 chipset
AMD 2500+ (Barton)
512 DDR Dual Channel
On board realtek crap
GeForce FX5600 NU 256 meg
Maxtor 80 gig HDD (7200rmp, 2mb cache)
LG dvd, LiteOn cdrw, Pioneer dvdrw
All drivers all the latest versions!

Interesting thing I found out:
If I remove the Sources dir it will start but I can't do anything in it! If I remove any other dir I get a path not found error or something like this
hope this helps.

Update: Okay just saw you updated the installer again, I will try it out if it works this time.

Probably I'm stupid - I don't know how to use this porgramme - I can load a wave and AAMS analyzes it and writes a source-file - I can load in a reference file -
but how on earth do I render the master??? - I can't find an appropriate button/menu-entry anywhere :?

Post

I can save several internal AAMS file-types - buit how do I render to .wav? - this programme looks really interesting but it makes my brain hurt :bang:

Thx Shamanix, yes if you remove dirs or files it does not work. I am doing additional programming to let AAMS check if a directory exists or not, or files do exist or not. Those dammed users! I could hire them as beta testers, but over here its free info... laugh! :)

I think Revision B is even better then Revision A, you just need a make a link to the AAMS.exe in the startup menu (did not do that).

I just checked in a music store of a friend on his PC, quess what Re-booting all over the place.
RevisionB nailed it in one go...
Furthermore he is using some kind of AMD double processor, it imported a track of 5 minutes in just 15seconds! Amazing speed! My P4 2.5mhz does it in 4 minutes...

Keep it UP!

 I just found out it can't render - it just calculates suggestions :dog:

(Jens) How bad of me. But i have i few tricks up my sleve that are not implemented in the AAMS program (yet) :-o
And i am working alongside a plugin programmer who is gonna do some plugins for AAMS. 8)
I dont know if its gonna be internal rendering or plugins, just await further versions in the future.
But don't expect nothing of that in the next few months, maybe V2.0 goes all the way. :)

I just could not keep waiting for another 1/2 year or so to release this thingy! :D

nonono - it was my fault - I just have automatically and falsely been assuming that it would calculate the suggested changes by itself... :)

...Anyway most people want to use their own plugins and editors.
Yes I would use my own plugins and any presets that AAMS would customize specifically for a plugin I would register in to AAMS - but that would assume AAMS could learn the plugin since the resolution and accuracy of a knob on one plugin doesn't correspond to another plugin of course. But if AAMS couldn't adjust the plugin itself I guess it could tell if I've adjusted it properly according to it's opinion - and my ears would always have the final say.

Keep up the good work dvdvelde - we'll get you trained yet

Lets try this one, one that goes for all those plugin manufacturors.
The main reason because AAMS does not support plugin presets is that 99% of those presets are completely user unfriendly. Take a plugin you have and save a preset (from the plugin (lets say Waves C4!).
Save a preset from it, find it on your harddisk open it with a texteditor like notepad....
What do you see???? Total rubbish hexx codes!!
99% percent of plugins save their presets with rubbish HEXX codes or BIT and BYTES. How can i ever make a preset for Waves C4 ? or any other plugin?
If they save their user presets in total rubbish codes? They dont state anything in the manual how the preset is build up, you cannot find any info how to make a preset or read it with another program....

The only plugin i found was Elemental Audio Systems Firium. It saves its presets in XML and that is understandable text! That is why AAMS supports it! And not the rest of them XXXXX-d-up plugins. I like the plugins, dont like the preset saving systems!

If anyone knows a solution or want to kick manufacturors asses... plz do, and keep me posted about this total rubbish user unfriendly preset saving system 99% of plugins have.

Or did i make a mistake somewhere ?
I'd like to know that one also kyle.... :help:
