If you PM me with the details about this banks I will take a look and see what the problem is.skarvika wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 7:08 pm Speaking of which, when importing .mid or .syx soundbanks into Airwave, there's a 50/50 chance they won't load. Not sure what the cause could be. Other formats work fine.

A while back there was that GForce plugin that was Mac-only on release. The shitstorm in the release announcement thread could have refilled the Aral Sea.revvy wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 7:17 pm Bloke developed a vocoder for Mac. Here, Adam says he’s thinking about developing a Mac version. Some happy Mac folk post in the thread. Greet!
Additionally, however, some Win folk start banging on about OSs and how macOS is basically inferior. Wow. Proper weirdos.
I hate signatures too.

Oh God I’d forgotten about that. Yes, the bedshitting and crybabery was off the scale indeed. Happy times.Super Piano Hater 64 wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 8:55 pmA while back there was that GForce plugin that was Mac-only on release. I’ll leave the discussion now to talk about this synth, looking forward to hopefully trying it one day.

Exactly, it's minus the DAC, which means it's not the same thing at all.Lbdunequest wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 11:53 amDude, do you even understand what JE8086 is? The Usual Suspects emulate the computer of Roland JP8K and the rom is actual software from the synthesizer itself. So its the real thing minus DAC.
I get it completely, I'm just offering an explanation as to why it might sound different to full emulations that include the effect of the DAC on the out6put sound. How do you not get that?So how you are not getting any of Roland JP8K is just some mind gymnastics in your head.

Is there already a thread re: where to obtain preset banks for the JP-8000 and -8080?
Also: is there some kind of bridging app that allows one to run Windows plugins in MacOS (similar to yabridge on Linux)?

So then we actually all have completely different plugins even if we buy the same ones, unless we have the same audio interface. So I guess Airwave for you is a different thing as Airwave for me. I guess we'll never get an accurate emulation of anything unless we use the same sound card as the developer who made it. Impeccable logic.BONES wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 10:36 pmExactly, it's minus the DAC, which means it's not the same thing at all.Lbdunequest wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 11:53 amDude, do you even understand what JE8086 is? I meant the DAC in the hardware but, yeah, what you listen to things through will definitely have an effect on how things sound.

Your sound card would affect everything you listen to similarly. I don't think it's the same as emulating a particular DAC sound, from the synth, that has its sound and will get on your recording.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 5:37 pm So then we actually all have completely different plugins even if we buy the same ones, unless we have the same audio interface. Of course using a DAC emu maybe close enough for that usual suspects one, but it's not exactly a supported and legit source again.

Sure, vynils and K7's have a loud full spectral noise that makes music really asesome when the ear starts behaving adaptative. Same for DAC sounds when the sound is ON.
I can't understand why people keep trying to get the same silence as virtual hardware has on virtual plug-ins...

For which bug?

Well there's a bug with velocity control not working properly in mono mode. That's a pretty big one for me. There's also a bug where loading a bank doesn't load a preset, although that's a less significant issue.
