For anyone struggling to connect through ASC the website runs off a different server so you can usually download the updates directly from the 'my products' section without any bandwidth issues. Worked for me just now.

^^^ definitely.

[I'm sure it's needed, people don't read other peoples posts much in long threads, just funny that we're at four posts from different people mentioning the website in one page]

So far, I have to say that I'm loving the new filters and Corroder effect. I'm fine with the areola macro knobs, and areolas in general.

Just a note of caution for those grabbing the direct link on Mac OS. Arturia runs a background Launch Agent (ArturiaSoftwareCenterAgent.app) which is a mandatory background process which must run in order to authorise any Arturia software on Mac OS.

If the background agent can’t log in through ASC (Because ASC is having login problems) then it can’t check that you are authorised to run the software. In other words: Even if you use the direct download link, it’s possible that you won’t be able to use the software anyway. This is why you’re seeing some people say the software doesn’t work for them. It probably does, but right now ASC doesn’t, so it won’t allow them to run it ;)

It’s a fairly obnoxious form of copy protection, and basically must be left running in order to use Arturia’s software on the Mac platform.

TLDR: Wait for ASC to allow you to log in, or take your chances on whether the download can log in ;)

The ASC finally opened and it's activated for me now.
All set. :)

Per voice distortion, do you mean the filter fm?
Some of the new filters have built in distortion, like Ripple, Reverb, Rage, etc. Accessed via the Drive knob, though you lose it on Ripple if you put it in Feed Back mode. On top of that, you do also have Filter FM abilities on some of the filter models.

Pigments has really become one of my favorites. While not a ton of new stuff in this update it is still really useful. Especially the new filters, snappy envelopes. They’ve quietly improved mono legato behaviour in mpe too (as serum 2 also just fixed).

Speaking of serum, something I’ve realized is that I prefer having g the oscillators tabbed and seeing both filters at once as in Pigments, as opposed to seeing all oscillators and tabbing the filters as in Serum.

Is it only on my side, that changing cutoff on the play page is laggy?

Also I discovered, that changing cutoff via mouse on an init preset with sawtoth wave sounds strange. Like cutoff fade isn't smooth and linear, but interrupted with artefacts. Anyone the same problem?

Since the day I bought my license, every major update has been free. Not cosmetic revisions but substantial expansions that push the instrument forward in meaningful ways. In an industry where incremental upgrades often come with a price tag, this level of ongoing commitment is unusual and as someone who works in sound design, I see Pigments as more than a product. It’s a carefully evolving instrument shaped by people who clearly understand both the technical and artistic sides of synthesis. The attention to modulation, the depth of the engines, the tools for movement and generative behavior.. These aren’t features bolted on for marketing. They feel like the result of a team that actually uses the instrument and cares about what it enables.

For ambient and generative work especially, Pigments has become one of the most expressive environments available. It allows sound to unfold, breathe and behave in ways that feel intentional rather than accidental. Every update expands that without fragmenting the ecosystem or forcing users into a new purchase.

Arturia’s approach shows respect for the craft and for the people who rely on these tools every day. I appreciate that! Not just as a customer but as someone who depends on instruments that grow with me rather than reset every few years.
I haven’t explored the new features in depth yet, but based on their track record, I’m confident they will offer something of real value once again.

Thanks, Arturia. Genuinely appreciated.

I just wonder what was the purpose? We've been using knobs with pointers to adjust parameters since the stone ages and there's a good chance we'll be using a knob on our controllers to adjust the macros.

Sure, we'll get used to them but they don't really provide much visual reference. With a pointer you can see at a glance the approximate value. With the new knobs it's just "bigger is more" without any scale.

Seems like one of those "change for the sake of change" things to me.
