Would this work? Anyone else that would like to see this?stefancrs wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:03 pmI'll see if I can squeeze it in!lalo wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 2:48 pmHi! Just to know if developing plans would include that...thanks!lalo wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 11:34 am Great stuff! Would be great to have a Velocity->Attack modulation.
Sometimes is good to get a little slower attack on lower velocity levels (more realistic snare shuffles, retrriggered hats etc.)

Now I'm probably going to sound daft, but when is that needed?

Just more of a convenience than anything, and I’m used to it from all the other drum machine plugins I have. These outputs tend to be too hot for feeding into other plugins, a master just makes it easier and doesn’t take up an effect slot in the DAW.
I generally don’t use the multi-out I guess.

But doesn't any DAW have a volume for the bus anyways? If you don't do crazy things with the EQ, this can't go too hot (because there's a soft clipper in the chain before the EQ).pekbro wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 9:54 pmJust more of a convenience than anything, and I’m used to it from all the other drum machine plugins I have. Anyways, I haven't considered it, but if a bunch of people would request it I would of course add it and rethink the UI layout

Fair enough, DAWs do have that, but things can get complicated depending on how you gain stage. Anyway, not a huge deal.stefancrs wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 10:06 pmBut doesn't any DAW have a volume for the bus anyways? Ask and ye shall receive!
I just dropped a new update for Smackbox V2. Version 1.0.8 is out now!
Sooomeone were asking for more dynamic control, so I added Velocity to Attack mapping. Now you can smack those pads harder for punchier transients or play softer for a slower fade-in. I think it's expressive, thanks for the feature request!
Also, check out the new "Evolve" button. It's a quick way to roll the dice on your current sound and get some instant inspiration.
What's New in v1.0.8:
Happy beatmaking!

What's New in v1.0.8:
-
Evolve Button: Instant, musical randomization for the selected sound.
-
Velocity -> Attack: Dynamic control over Noise and Pitch Envelope attack.
-
UI Tweaks: Cleaned up the Velocity section and made everything line up perfectly.
-
General stability improvements.
Happy beatmaking!

FYI: So the win installer is still doubling up. I have to manually delete the old version, which I always forget to do, so I have to rename the top (old folder) to be able to copy the new version out to its own dir, so I can delete the old version...
Is there any chance you might consider allowing for custom color settings for the hilite colors? That's always a nice option to have imo...
-Cheers

Regarding installer .... please install the Smackbox folder on Linux to ~/.local/share/. The Music folder is not the right place.
Also would it be possible to create folders in the preset folder and display them in the preset menu to categorize the presets?
Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know, I'm on Mac myself so it's good to get feedback on these things. Will adjust the installer!swindus wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 8:58 am Regarding installer .... please install the Smackbox folder on Linux to ~/.local/share/. The Music folder is not the right place.

Hm, I like the preset folder idea. Would make even more sense if I get presets from a bunch of users to bundle with the install!
