The Junior version is a lot of fun. The filter being so wonky (presumably it's also 4 bits?) reminds me a bit of the Atmegatron I used to have.

Sounds very good! The filter is a bit unusual

As a fan of wavetable tones from the PC Engine and SCC, this is such a treat! And I am glad it is polyphonic. Now I don't have to get the Gadget plugins just for Kamata. Tone2 Icarus and Serum have cool ways of making those kinds of waveforms in their editors too.

I hate signatures too.

Tracker style modulators is such a hilariously fun idea. I'll have to grab this now.

With every new release, it seems less likely there will be an Opal VST/AU.

Remember that it's not actually a filter at all. It just calculates a filter-like response that it uses to alter the 4-bit waveform in realtime.
The whole thing sounds great, and it's a lot of fun to use. Gotta love the less-is-more approach from Fors.

I'd actually buy Live just to get the Fors stuff if I didn't own it already!Uncle E wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 7:52 pm With every new release, it seems less likely there will be an Opal VST/AU.![]()
Opal is the closest you'll get to Elektron in software.
Roulette is one of best note sequencers I've used and Chiral is one of my all time favourite synths.
Fors are masters at getting complexity out of simplicity.
Such a great company.
