I’m Steven, a producer and engineer. I’ve always found it incredibly frustrating to check how a mix translates on consumer devices. Switching the DAW’s hardware preferences to AirPods or Bluetooth Headphone—and then dealing with buffer size resets or restarting the engine—completely kills the creative flow.
Why not just use Audiomovers? I’ve used tools like Listento before. While they are fantastic for remote collaboration, the setup felt a bit too complex for my local needs, and I’m not a fan of the subscription model just for checking a mix in the same room. It felt like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
To solve this, I spent the last few months developing AirCheck.
It’s a "one-click" solution that requires no Aggregate Device setups, no virtual cables, and most importantly, zero changes to your DAW Output Preferences.
What does it do?
How to Use AirCheck
1.Install: Run the PKG/Installer from the links below.
2.Insert: Place AirCheck as the very last plugin on your Master Bus. (Master output is automatically muted by default when the plugin is inserted.)
-Connect AirPods: Ensure your AirPods are connected to your OS and set as the System Default Output (not the DAW hardware preference).
-Connect Mobile: Ensure your phone and DAW are on the same Wi-Fi. Scan the QR code, tap "Start Listening," and the audio will begin streaming.
Note: You can toggle the "DAW Outputs" button to turn on your main monitors instantly. Your active output status is displayed in the top-left corner.
System Requirements
macOS: 10.15+ (Intel & Apple Silicon)
Windows: 10+ (VST3 only)
Tested DAWs: Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Reaper, Cubase (Pro Tools not yet supported).
