let's talk about Swivel, cradle, Sturgis, Harrison, Slate, Audio Assault etc

There are devs that get little to none attention for whatever reason, even though they have a professional appearance and we are close to Xmas, so ..
Why?
Not good? Too expensive? Too little hype? too..?
Swivel
cradle (God particle etc)
Joey Sturgis (Finalty etc)
Slate (Virtual mix rack, SSD etc)
Harrison
Audio Assault
Anyone uses them?
Did I forget to add a dev?
I remember two devs who entered the scene, attracted some attention, but now it is quiet.
KIT plugins
Modalics
Imo AA plugins were overhyped some years ago, bought some plugins, didn't use them, cuz they didn't serve my mixes and workflow, re-sold.
Some devs were hyped to such extent that I bought some of their plugins even after having demoed and regreted it afterwards like
AA, PA, Softube, U-he (Diva!), Tone2, Klanghelm
I am not saying they are all bad, just not for me!
Did you also buy because of hype and regret it?
I don't do it any more, have more than enough plugins now and use what I know well to enhance my mixes and is good for my workflow.
Are there devs who stopped maintaining their products?
Anyone some love for these devs or their plugins?

I bought Headcrusher from Audio Assault after reading positive reviews on various sites. But when I tried it, I found it heavily coloured the sound even with the Mix knob at 0%. The big Mix knob only controls certain parameters but not the plugin itself. So certain distortion types are just kind of unusable if you don't want all the other effects in the background on. This didn't exactly inspire confidence to try their other plugins...

If you dare to write something slightly critical about some specific devs,
you'll be crucified immediately by the relentless fanbois.
We all know who these devs are.
Any investment into their portfolio should be done cautiously,
often the expectations will not be met.

Here's some actual numbers from Gearspace :
Slate VSX release topics get some 400.000 views on average.
The God Particle release topic got about 250.000 views.
Harrison release topics get about 40.000 views on average.
For comparison : Waves release topics get some 15.000 views on average.
So the OP is completely wrong. His beloved Waves is actually one of these brands that get little to no attention anymore.

? You are obviously in the wrong forum.
This is not Gearspace here and Waves do not need any hype - always simple to use plugins with quick and satisfactory results!
You refer to Gearspace, so I refer to Youtube - the way bigger platform:
...420.000 views isn't that little, I guess
Still more than god particle introduction video 3 years ago. Btw don't know anyone who has or uses this plugin.
Slate pretty weak
well, Harrison even weaker
or
Your attempt to bash Waves has backfired.

Slate Digital (VMR) used to get lots of attention but then it was sold to Audiotonix.
Steven Slate Audio is a different company.
God Particle gets lots of attention but not as much here. It’s not flying under the radar.
It’s a super saturated market so companies need to campaign.

I bought some Audio Assault plugins maybe 4-5 years ago, for next to nothing. Their prices are always dirt cheap. They sort of have been maintained, sort of not. Some were deprecated silently. Others are now folded into a side company 5db5, where I hope they continue to maintain them. I'm not sure they will. Most of their effort seems to have gone into building these plugins within plugins or Lockers as they call them, which just don't interest me. Their versioning is cyptic. Release notes don't exist. It's like a bunch of Mexican rockers built a software company without understanding some basics of software development. But they continuously seem to be improving and have always been very gracious, and provided a variety of free upgrades along the way. I've however mostly removed them from active rotation.
In the Etc. corner just picked up some distortion effects from Aurora DSP, for next to nothing, and they are squarely on the under hyped developer list. Have had some of their ios Apps for a few years but finally took a closer look at the desktop offerings. Some good freebies, and the demo process is super easy, if you are ok with online phone home registrations. I'm quite impressed.

I have a few JST plugins that I like a lot, though I wouldn't have bought them without a sale probably. Audio assault has some nice effects as well, typically stupid cheap. They have had many issues with bugs in the past, but these last few years have been pretty good. Even if you need to pay attention to see what they are calling themselves at any given moment heh...

While not unhyped, I'd say Slate VSX is underhyped for how good it is and how well it addresses the needs of most KVR members.

TB Pro Audio's last 2 plugins, the Impress3 compressor and the TBPAclip are absolute bangers. Serious tools for professionals at reasonable prices.
FKFX Audio has some interesting stuff. Not tried yet tho.
Minimal Audio too... better known than TB and FKFX, but way more under the radar than the ones mentioned in the OP.

They really seem to have some interesting plugins, maybe worth trying...

Swivel is actually programmed by Kiive, if I am not mistaken.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.
