Looks interesting. I haven’t tried it yet, but plan on giving the demo a spin in the next few days.

Interesting...

Pretty impressive. This interface is very slick.

Of course I just purchased ReVoice over the holiday sale season. Wish I could have done a shootout before deciding. Interested to hear from people who have tried this one.

There's a lengthy discussion about the rollout on GearSpace. The dev is hanging out there, and seems very responsive. The product is still evolving, rapidly so far, as they get feedback.

The usual bitching about it being too expensive. One guy is offering them a reality check, and none of them seem to have any idea what might be a good price; they just want it cheap.

C'mon, GS guys. This isn't just a new twist on a $29 compressor.

I'm gonna follow it a while to see if they can iron out some issues, then likely demo it before buying.

Yeah, I’ve been following that discussion on GS. It’s worth every bit of the $239 price tag IMO, or at least it will be once they iron out the wrinkles. Personally, I haven’t tried it yet because, until Apple/Logic work out the ARA situation, I’d just be in the same boat as I am with Melodyne. But, hopefully Apple will resolve that situation soon and Vovious gets polished up for prime time in the meantime.

Myk reviewed it.

ABX is enemy to GAS

Sounds terribly artificial.
And $239? :D
There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

I would not buy this right now. Maybe after they work out some things
For a C minor scale, the app is telling me the notes in that key are C, D, D#, F, G, G#, A#, C
I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

Yeah, I saw that some people were mentioning that it defaults to enharmonic equivalent sharps even when the specified key should be using flats. I would find that pretty annoying tbh and it would probably bring back my PTSD from my old theory professors.

I mean how difficult would it be to code this? And they want $239. Hard pass.

It looks pretty cool and the price is probably fair for the quality of the tool but imo if they wanted to disrupt the Melodyne space and stand out a bit more they should have considered charging less, and maybe offering linux support.
3 sections of the market they will probably miss out on:
1. People who own the pro version of melodyne and use it regularly but don't feel like spending another big chunk of money for something pretty similar.
2. People like me who use the cheap version of melodyne for the occasional tweak of an otherwise decent take. If I'm too cheap to upgrade to melodyne editor, I'm too cheap for this!
3. Linux users. Well that might not seem like an attractive part of the market but there is literally nothing native for linux that does that job so they would have it to themselves.
