Mixbus 32C Suddenly Maxing Out CPU | What Should I Check?

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I last checked in. I’ve been using Mixbus and Ardour for years, but I recently jumped back into Mixbus 32C and ran into an issue that I can’t figure out.
The main problem is CPU usage. Even with a very simple session — one track and just a few plugins (x42 Limiter, Overtone FC70, and Presswerk) — my CPU shoots straight up to 100%. This is happening on a fairly new Intel i7 multicore system, which makes it even more confusing.
In the past, older versions of Mixbus 32C ran smoothly for me on a much older machine, even with large multitrack projects. So I’m guessing something is misconfigured, or maybe there’s a setting or known issue I’m missing.
Has anyone else experienced this with newer versions? Any tips on what settings to check or how to troubleshoot this would be really helpful. Cheers
