The Usual Suspects JE8086 - Bit-perfect emulation of the JP-8000 is here!

Once thought to be impossible due to Roland's undocumented ESP chip, The Usual Suspects have succeeded in reverse engineering the instruction set of the JP-8000, and have released a bit-perfect emulation. Public beta came out within the last hour.
Mac, Windows, Linux.
VST2, VST3, AU, CLAP, LV2
https://dsp56300.wordpress.com/je8086/
NOTE: You need the JP-8000 ROM to run this. If you have a JP-8000, and still have the .MID files used to update it, those may be used in lieu of the ROM file.

Note that it doesn't (yet) support the JP-8080 mode, for those about to ask.

Again, my usual congrats to The Usual Suspects Team for their amazing knowledge and talent.
Just one question if I could (to the DSP56300 website master) : is there a way to set something like "version=Latest" in the query, so it's simpler to look for the latest release instead of specifying the exact version number each time ?
Example URL (some letters are omitted to avoid direct links) :
ht.ps://dsp56300..../......./down.....html?version=2.0.0&product=...&format=.....&os=....
becomes :
ht.ps://dsp56300..../......./down.....html?version=Latest&product=...&format=.....&os=....
This is because it's a little difficoult to keep track of the exact version number each time, and the github release page contains 300+ different builds for each update, very difficoult to navigate.
That would be the cherry on the top of the cake.

Not yet, but I submitted this as a feature request a few days back, for the same reasons.

I made a demo video about the new Beta version, dealing with A/B (or upper/lower parts) and also parameter automation

Works fine here, maybe at your ISP end?metalifuxx wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 12:38 pm Seems their site/server got overloaded, none of the download links work?
Yes, it's a CSS/HTML based thing now (specifically, it uses the RMLUI library).ffx wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 12:43 pm Very nice skins on each of the synths now, crisp readable fonts, high res, fast, scalable. Nice job! Also i've read it is using a html engine, right? Also nice approach.

I've always suspected, that a key component of the JP8k's distinctive sound is the filter. And indeed, it sounds great (in my opinion).
