I also bought upgrade as it was cheap. Have not tested it yet. Demo looks awful though. Like Kel mentions, it doesn't sound musical at all on the demo videos.

Bought. Intro price is reasonable. It is very resource heavy. In Bitwig my dsp meter is about 50%. My system isn't new, I run an i7-8700k @3.7ghz. At that spec it chews up about twice what Diva does. My guess is the sound engine. With that said...planet_b wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 8:39 amThis should be pretty soon, as FAW's Instagram comment stated the midi out is now ready for release!![]()
I ran Midi Madness and Tatat into it for random midi notes and was happy with the results. My plan is to run a couple of ios midi generators like Polyphase into it and see what happens. Looking forward to running it with my own vst's too.

Curious to hear more how any of you who upgrade to Instacomposer 3 are getting on with it as you dig deeper. I never felt compelled to buy the earlier versions. But I did get Ultimate MIDI bundle years ago for next to nothing, so I qualify for that upgrade, which would also give me Loop Engine 3. What?
I've demoed some W.A., and acquired quite a few free over the years, and there is a consistent sort of midness to their products. I'll say that. The 2 I personally have found the most interesting, Venom & MIDIQ, have not been updated in years, and when they did it was just to add a serial number auth wrapper. Neither is compiled for ARM on Mac, and still require Rosetta.
The Insta series seems to get more frequent updates and were compiled for ARM rather expeditiously, by comparison.
AFAIK, both MIDIQ and Venom were acquired from independent developers so maybe that plays a part. But they didn't acquire the code too? W.A. is where inspiring plugins go to die. I would use the term abandonware, but MIDIQ is being flogged in the new Ultimate MIDI Bundle 4. It's a company that I'm inclined to believe spends more on marketing & promotion than it does on software development.

Looking at Harmonic Animator:

https://www.grooveslap.com/
Grooveslap presents Harmonic Animator (vst3/au/aax MIDI chord step sequencer)
viewtopic.php?t=612112
Requires iLok account (free). Both USB and Host
Has anyone ever seen this going for less than $60?

It has been updated and midi out works as expected. I like it so far. Money well spent. It's a bit heavy on the cpu however I plan to update to an Apple M4/M5 soon so it's not a biggie. I'm in Bitwig (5 something) btw...planet_b wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 8:39 amThis should be pretty soon, as FAW's Instagram comment stated the midi out is now ready for release!![]()

I hope they consider releasing the MIDI Out part as a separate plugin without the unnecessary sound engine attached. It does use rather a lot of CPU for a relatively simple sample and VA sound engineUncleAge wrote: Tue Dec 23, 2025 4:33 amIt has been updated and midi out works as expected. I like it so far. You can download for free the early-access version of Power Composer (Windows only for now) here...
https://powercomposer.net/index.html
It's a Music Making Software/MIDI Editor/Soundfont Synth.

Did I get this right that it is simply a daw independent piano roll ? Nothing generative or sequencing or whatever just drawing in notes ?ZincT wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 10:39 am You can download for free the early-access version of Power Composer (Windows only for now) here...

Haven't extracted the zip yet, but this already looks like I'd rather use this over Reaper's piano roll.ZincT wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 10:39 am You can download for free the early-access version of Power Composer (Windows only for now) here...

Yes, that's what it looks like to me although it is in early development.tatanka wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 1:43 pm Did I get this right that it is simply a daw independent piano roll ? Nothing generative or sequencing or whatever just drawing in notes ?
