Hello peoples,

Just came across this fine site you all have here and need to pick a few brains if possible:

I have a BCR2000 which has been functioning quite well until recently,
Every time I try to "Edit" a controllers function, be it knob or button, I cant get into the controllers Edit Mode.

For example, I want to change a buttons Mode from On/Off to Hold, so that when I press that button and then release it, the button turns back off as I release my finger.

I could do this fine until recently and now Im not happy with my current config anymore and want to totally redo it, but am unable to change each knob/buttons function, no matter what preset Im in.

Ive tried doing it thru BControl Edit but that program doesnt seem to like my machine much, even after downgrading the JRE to 1.4.2_5.
Ive also updated my firmware to 1.1.0 then 1.0.7, as directed in another thread here.
Still no go tho.

Specifically, when I hold the Edit button and then turn the knob or press the button I want to Edit the settings for, "OFF" just comes up on the LCD and the "Edit" never even lights up, then nothing happens, I simply end up back in normal mode.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Maybe Im stuck in some emulation mode??
Is there any way to do a hard reset of the box itself?

Cheers!
AB

PS:
This may well be newb talk, sorry if it is, but there ya go :D

The only ResetI know of just resets the most important MIDI data to Factory settings. This may or may not help, you can try it anyway.

1. Press Edit and keep it pressed.
2. Press Exit (reset is performed straight away). PAnC should appear in display.

Machine then goes into play mode with the current preset displayed.

No harm in trying I guess

Feck, just tried it, PAnC did appear for a sec, so i suppose the reset worked, but still the problem persists.

What the f*ck!!

I am doing this correctly right??

Hold EDIT then move the controller I want to actually EDIT, then release EDIT and I should be in that controllers EDIT section, yes?

Cheers for the quick response mate!

Sorry about delay, been doing chores and such.

The way you are trying to activate the encoders/buttons is ok. I had a look around on the internet but nothing really turned up.

Only thing I can think off is that you may be in the wrong Operating Mode somehow, but even with that I don't recall seeing an "Off" message. Perhaps it's German humour for "It's fecked mate".

I am running it on version 1.1.0 with no problems on win 2000 + USB. I had problems previously with version 1.0.7 but, it is probably specific to certain PC machines on which version to use.

I don't have any other info I'm afraid. Perhaps somebody else will come up with a solution. Wait for the U.S. to wake up, maybe a solution will be forthcoming from across the pond.

Good Luck...

No probs mate, thanks for the help.
If the US lads cant help I think I'll bring it back to the retailer, I only bought it about 2 or 3 months ago.
Cheers!

If reset won't work, you might try a firmware update. That should wipe out everything and start you over again like new. Can't say it'll work for sure but it's worth a try.

Tried it my friend, nada :(

Before I bring this back, can anyone else help?

Hi,

FIXED THE ISSUE!!!

Actually had the same problem here. I own multiple BCF2000s and BCR2000s and only one BCR (that I bought on ebay) would have the EDIT button not working like the other ones (BCF and BCR EDIT button works the same way. You press EDIT and turn the knob or push the button you want to edit). Couldn't find any solution online even with chatgpt lol. Tried the firmware, factory reset, etc... Nothing worked either.

After messing around for a while I randomly made it work FINALLY! With two methods:

First: double click the edit button very fast and turn the knob or push the button you want to edit.
Second: hold EXIT+EDIT and turn the knob or button you want to edit.

ET VOILA!!!

Both methods worked for me. Hope this would help.

Might also be worth checking if Mountain Utilities are still around it had some great stuff for the BCR/F 2000.
Not enough time or talent.
