Very well done!

No wonder. If there was a top 10 most aliasing plugins, that would be the first.

UA Pultec I wouldn't recommend either, so much better alternatives. I grnerally don't consider aliasing as a big issue, but this one is definitetely too much aliasing. Why do they do that? Can't they behave?!

Why ? it's easy to understand :

it's only appears with some peoples, because even UA need love, and peoples who hate them receive plugins from them that produce big aliasing issues

Pult EQ is a free and open source Pultec style tube EQ VST3 plugin (64bit) for Linux and Windows. Pult EQ is not made for fine detailed work, but for adding mojo and sound coloration. You can boost the lows, the highs and the mids. You can saturate your sound or, of course, do the “Pultec trick”. The EQ features stereo and mid/side processing and the saturation comes with automatic gain compensation and up to 16 times oversampling.

Pult EQ is based on the Pultec EQ example of the Wave Digital Filter model library in FAUST and on the airwindows Tube2 saturation.

How do you check this aliasing you're hearing?

Post

Ok, I loaded UADx EQP-1a in the Plugin-Doctor and with the 0dB signal at 20kHz coming in (which is an insane level BTW) anything that could resemble aliasing is less than -140dB - what are we talking about here?

BUT, then I loaded UADx EQP-MEQ-5 and with the same signal coming in the aliasing is more obvious and reaches -113dB - that is not atrocious IMO, but not good either and raises questions.

EDIT: Submitted a bug report - don't have high hopes.

Like you said that's a strong signal for 20Khz. Can you actually hear that at -113 or -140db?

Well, that depends on the levels, you're listening at, but for a "normal" human to be able to hear -143dB FS, the levels should be close to the pain threshold (and aliasing would be the least of their problems at that point).
With -113dB FS, I can envision a situation with multiple stages of compression "downstream" resulting in making it audible. Personally, I almost never compress that much.
My PERSONAL rule of thumb is -130dB FS for distortion is low enough, not to worry about it.

Can you show proof of this aliasing you're talking about?
