Yes, we bite.
KVR is writhe with sarcasm.
Sarcasm originates from the Greek word "sarkazein," which means "to tear flesh." It is a form of verbal irony used to mock or ridicule someone, often with the intention of causing harm rather than humor.
The learning curve for it is to discern which is playful banter and what is group cannibalism.

This site is best for searching old threads for gold nuggets.

New threads are filled with frivolous, narcissistic, nihilistic, angry, random, performative, boring etc. posts.

Best to wait for new threads to die down to search for the nuggets.

Participation? Mostly, don't bother - for the list of reasons above.

People get paid to do this?

If I had a euro for every post I've made here, I'd have a lot of money. 42901 and that's not counting all the ones that got deleted.

I've noticed that when my posts get deleted, the count still stays the same.

And yet…life goes on.
I‘ve registered at forums that were ridiculously controlling, and didn‘t hide the fact they played favourites. I didn‘t hang around.
KVR is entirely reasonable. I sometimes have trouble drawing inside the lines, but I‘ve never had any problems except for a few posts getting removed.
I also don‘t go out of my way to make a nuisance of myself.
That just comes naturally.

This year was my 20 year anniversary as a registered KVRian...I have .03 posts per day...because I am a shit musician and a quasi-misanthrope. However, I still come here every day; what else am I going to do at "work?"
