You went through a lot of work to proclaim your superiority to a bunch of people who don’t care.
I think he's just reminding people of the legal implications of using this without owning the hardware.
Nah, he's just being a baby. Oh look at me, I spit my dummy, but I won't read your replies.

Total clown.

It might be perfect, but AFAIK it is completely useless without ROM which is not openly available.

I think he's just reminding people of the legal implications of using this without owning the hardware. Whatever mental gymnastics people choose to do to allow themselves the right to grab the ROMS from an archive source and load it up is not what the makers of this emulator were aiming for. The point is if you have the hardware you can then have a like for like, minus AD/DA in some cases, to load up much easier in your projects. Will many people get it that don't have the hardware, sure, but let's not kid ourselves on it being a moral debate. It's a legal one.
Roland allows you to download it from them directly and grants a license to so in the process, there is no qualifications to owning any hardware in that licence, they freely grant it to anyone who downloads it

"Roland grants you the following non-exclusive rights to use the SOFTWARE in accordance with the terms of this License Agreement.
(a) You may only use the SOFTWARE on a specific single computer at one time. Use of the SOFTWARE shall include loading the SOFTWARE into temporary memory (i.e., RAM) or installing the SOFTWARE into storage media (i.e., hard disk) of the computer on which you will use the SOFTWARE."

So according to Romans themselves you can download and use it
What have the Romans ever done for us?
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Romans 2:19-21
(19) And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, (20)An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. (21) Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

Nonsense - as evidenced by a number of other weirdos, it's unnecessary to install the plugin and screenshot it to whine about the need for firmware.

Y'all are just doing a particularly bizarre form of concern trolling. There are no "legal implications" for anyone using this software. No one is in danger of being sued by Roland for including this plugin in their smash hit retro-trance banger. If there are legal implications they exist for the developer, which falls firmly under "not my problem" territory. Or your problem.

Beyond that reality, none of us have a moral obligation to Roland Corp. nor to its intellectual property. If you don't want to install the plugin, don't. No one needs to know. The only reason to yell about it is to proclaim your superiority and make everyone avoid you like the guy on the bus who might have just pooped his pants.
