And in the horrific aftermath of grief tripped and licensed the code to REFX and then Vengeance.
Nah, the dev's just a c**t.

Boy… this went sideways pretty quickly.

Perhaps we can connect with reFX or Vengeance to see what is the status of the plugin

Or...hear me out on this one: maybe just let it go.

Sucks that a plugin you like is dead. But you're probably not going to will it back into existence. Sucks that these unsupported plugins are still for sale but again, you're probably not going to change that. Probably best to just let it go.

The dev disappeared. We don't know why. Speculating gets you nothing. You can try to reach out to them, but it seems clear these won't be updated. And even if they suddenly were, would you suddenly want to support the dev knowing they may just disappear again.

Say it with me: let it go.

An effect version of Avenger would do the job

dunno... version 1.6 works for me on a MBP M1 running Sequoia, no rosetta that I´m aware of ... works as VST2.4 in Bitwg 5.

CPU consumption, although higher than expected for a 2013 plugin is lower than the mentioned Tai Chi or Valhalla Futureverb.

That's because Bitwig has a built in plugin wrapper - which still needs Rosetta to be installed in the background

thanks for the info, didn´t know about the inner workings of sandboxing ointment bitwig. what about AUs? I just tried live and it appears as a AU but not a VST2.4 plugin. again, no rosetta enabled on my part.

Indeed it's very hard to come close to Arts Acoustic Reverb. I have a working licence. It has this distinctive rock solid sound.

I know it may sound surprising, but as far as I'm concerned I'd suggest Seventh Heaven.

Yes, it's a convolution-based reverb.

But I don't know any reverb that gives the same feeling of full solid sound. And I own them all. Seventh Heaven could please someone who used to be a Arts Acoustic Reverb lover I believe.

Maybe the only one that would come close in the algo realm could possibly be FAS FX Reverb by Fractal Audio. Not even that it sounds close. But it has the same flow. When it's there, your sounds seems to be full and flowing.

I really love Tai Chi and Cinematic Rooms Pro, I use 112dB Redline Reverb a lot, Sonsig Rev-A is a dreamverb, Polyverse Audio Comet is great also, but they're totally different beasts imho.

Any one that actually still works on modern systems in 2026. Which Big Rock Phaser hasn't in a LONG time. Even on Windows 10 it's super crashy. Forget about Mac.

Therefore, it's dead. I just let it go. Use other phasers. Or do what I did: buy an actual Small Stone. ;)

Fazortan 2 from D16. Try the two presets with 'stone' in the name, they're absolutely lovely, and you still have all the controls to tweak 'em. Best plugin phaser, imho.

Same sandboxing scheme as for VST3's. Rosetta is still being used. Once Apple sails Rosetta off into the sunset, that'll be it for AAR (and I'm sure, many others) on silcon Macs running whatever OS version they killed it in..
