That's an interesting idea. Even better, Presonus could create and manage their own forum where they could get useful customer feedback and, also over time, build up to be an impressive and useful knowledge base.

Why has nobody thought of that before?

Well, the studiooneforum.com is run by a freelance member of the inner development circle and the head of QA at Presonus. Even if Presonus doesn’t have its own forum, you probably can’t get closer to the core of Studio One development.

Interesting, just received an email that it's my last chance to get the 30% off discount on an upgrade plan. I didn't see any email about Studio One on Black Friday but the click through to mypresonus calls this a Black Friday sale. The email from today lists the valid dates as 11/26 to 12/5. My first email for Studio One discount was 12/19. Below is the fine print of today's email - they must not have made the typical sales they had planned and decided to extend the sale but they didn't market very well if they did indeed have a Black Friday sale. Makes no difference to me, I'm not gambling on a future with Fender.

Am I missing something here but if you're talking about a DAW then the Presonus brand (still) has far more value than Fender. Do I want my DAW to be one by Presonus? Yeah, for all of its recent ills they are still up in the top tier of DAWs. Do I want my DAW to be by Fender? No, they make guitars and amps.

I understand there's some value in having a more holistic view of your customers but this still seems daft.

Yes, but now many people will no longer get it as a free update as over a year...a years 'subscription' without updates will be see as a rip off by many....hopefully they will do it as a free update for all...

Recently went to install it on my new lappy. Sweet jesus what a palaver. Took me ages just to find out how to log in to my account and then various other hurdles ive forgotten. Wasnt this difficult a few years ago. Granted once I had the Manager installed it was plain sailing
