I wrote a totally free chord progressions generator (https://liotier.github.io/AkaiMPC/AkaiMPCChordProgressionGenerator/) web page. Progression palettes can be viewed as piano, guitar tabs, or staff notation. Users can print chord sheets to jam with others, export MIDI files for DAWs, or export .progression files for Akai MPC. Github link (https://github.com/liotier/AkaiMPC/tree/main/AkaiMPCChordProgressionGenerator). I hope it helps people like me who need that crutch !- KVRAF

Well, it is def a crutch, I tend to think learning to walk is the thing to do if you can.
Chord progression generator seems a bit like a sentence generator for a writer to me.

I mean, If you have FL Studio, if you press Alt+P on the Piano Roll (or Option+P on Mac), it brings up a chord progression generator, AND you can update it in real time. FL is the beast.

(I always prefer to write them manually though)

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

All this help to do things that you can do yourself is degrading the quality of life. There are people doing deliveries so reliant on GPS that apparently street addresses mean nothing, they're looking at a location that isn't a location, it's just a signal and can't figure it out. A map is an ancient artifact that's a total mystery. Artificial "Intelligence" has no actual capacity to work through a problem, they can repeat a answer they found if programmed to (neat trick I have to admit) and that's it.

Exactly! Having help to do basic things is pretty annoying in my opinion.jancivil wrote: Sat Jan 17, 2026 5:35 am All this help to do things that you can do yourself is degrading the quality of life. I don't drive as a rule, last time I did there was GPS in the vehicle; I may have used it some, I was delivering to a town I'd never been in (doing a friend a favor who had that busineess) but I remember looking a a map. 20+ yrs ago, first experience wi4th GPS. Every time I'm in a Lyft or Uber the driver is just following the GPS voice, you don't have to know where anything is yourself. Some, however know the city and will deviate having a better idea.
Hopefully the ones using LLMs to finish sentences don't feature themselves as writers. IDK the OP here features themselves a composer either. Different strokes. It has to be more fun having your own idea than not, is the thing.
