Dear KVR people!
These two company/product fight for the title of the best virtual singer:
"Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro" from Dreamtronics
"ACE Studio 2"
I just want to compare these, but don't really found any decent comparison on the net.
Synthesizer V Studio is nice, quick, can function in your DAW(not just a bridge),
cheaper than its competitor, but has less features and heavily depends on the available singer model databases.
If you buy this, you receive one singer - currently it is 99 $.
So it makes sense to buy an extended package, that contains a freely chosen singer - the price for this bundle is 149 $.
On the other hand Ace Studio is more expensive, has more singer models and they try to create a full virtual studio, including AI Instruments. BUT the DAW integration here is just a "BRIDGE" VST plugin, and in this relation Synthesizer V wins, because that is a full plugin running in the DAW.
What's your oppinion about the current versions of these two virtual singer softwares?
I only want to use such software to create vocal tracks, and I'd like to host the whole stuff in my DAW(Reaper, FL, Live) - So started to investigate and create my comparison.
At the end of 2024 I've tried ACE studio first time, that time I haven't bought that after all.
Now Synthesizer V seems to be a good budget choice, but I think this should have more feature - I don't get the WOW feeling while seeing its features. I mean ok, they have these good sounding singer "databases" but where are some AI functions? (I know it can generate AI retakes, but that does not impress me)
So if you have some experiences with these softwares please share your story!
(In Google Chrome I entered all this, asking for a comparison, and the AI Mode said if DAW Integration is important, I should choose Synthesizer V Studio)

I have no experience with Ace, but if all you want is vocals, I'd highly recommend Synthesizer V. Imo it doesn't *require* much manual tweaking to sound good (fine for electronic or pop music), but you can tweak several parameters if you want to improve the realism or get specifc. Mostly you'll need to adjust the timing or the phonemes, often having to get creative to get the pronunciation right. You will need to read the manual also imo.dune_rave wrote: Sat Jan 03, 2026 8:47 pm So if you have some experiences with these softwares please share your story!
Here are a couple songs I made where vocals are 100% Synthesizer v2:

The KVR link below has Synthesizer v2 including 3 decent voices for very low price, please note though I don't know the person selling, and can't vouch for them. Also, it's an account takeover, so not sure if that puts you off.

Ps, for some variation in voices you can use Synthesizer v to generate a vocal and then convert them by using the voices in the free version of Sonarworks VoiceAI. Or the free version of IKM resing, if it ever comes out.

Both/all of these current apps seem to focus on female/light pop/soul etc. vocals. There seem to be no options for distorted or harsher rock/metal vocals.dune_rave wrote: Sat Jan 03, 2026 8:47 pm What's your oppinion about the current versions of these two virtual singer softwares?

Check out demos of Eclipse Sounds "HXVOC" voice for Synthesizer v. Metal isn't my focus, and this voice could be laughable for all I know but some people at VI Control slgive it good reviews.Tubeman wrote: Sat Jan 03, 2026 10:40 pm Both/all of these current apps seem to focus on female/light pop/soul etc. vocals. "HXVOC is a gritty, English-native tenor rock vocalist for Synthesizer V Studio 2, based on the voice of industry veteran Seann Nicols."
One thing about Synthesizer V, their demo videos are AWFUL. It wasn't until I listened to songs from people on VI Control or YouTube that I thought it was worth trying.

It depend of what you want to do. Ace Studio is way more full pack of different voices, language, tonal range for many style of music such cinematic, opera, country, rap, pop, rock. More aggressive voice are on the way.
For the integration. Both has been developed with ARA in mind. Plugin for Syntheiszer V is just for incompatible DAW.
For the price, look how much cost Synthesizer V with 9 voices, and look how much cost Ace Studio 2 with 140 voices+free users.

Actually, Plugin for Synthesizer V is running without problems in Reaper NOW.
On the other hand, ACE is without a normal plugin.Their plugin is just a bridge.

I like soul or neo-soul , so these models are ok to me. ...maybe it lacks 'singers' that can rap, unfortunately : )Tubeman wrote: Sat Jan 03, 2026 10:40 pmBoth/all of these current apps seem to focus on female/light pop/soul etc. vocals. Synthesizer V hands down.
I don't know which "AI features" you miss, but Synthesizer V's realism and the tweaking of the voices is unmatched.

Reaper is ARA compliant, I'm using Melodyne/RePitch/Vocalign
Ace Studio 2 use ARA, but they still have the bridge for incompatible DAW.
The difference is how they manage ARA. Synthesier V open the standalone inside your DAW (looks like a plugin, but is not a plugin). Ace Studio v2 do not open the standalone inside DAW but use the ARA protocol.

Synth V isn't made for that, yet. But I tried a quick sketch-up with the current tools.

OK. I think I see the difference between the two : ACE Studio with this version 2 is not just a virtual singer - it's a whole studio (which i don't need). I really just want a small number of virtual singers, so for me Synthesizer V should be enough.

As someone who has routinely worked with singers for several decades, Synthesizer V doesn’t really come close enough to real to be usable on its own for my needs, but it’s been a useful tool for creating demos/scratch tracks that I send to real singers to get ideas going. It’s been particularly useful for my collabs with a Ukrainian singer that I work with regularly, since her English is not great, so it helps her practice phrasing and pronunciation. However, Synth V can occasionally be very finicky when trying to get phrasing right and I’ve encountered a few situations where it will simply not pronounce words or phrases correctly or will pronounce them awkwardly (e.g., misplaced emphasis) no matter how deeply I tweak it, but it’s usable for demo purposes. I’ve looked into ACE Studio a few times, but I don’t need a bunch of different voices for my purposes and, for the cost, I would want it available on my local drive and in my DAW.

I've yet to find an unsolvable pronunciation in English, when using native English voices.cryophonik wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 4:13 pm and I’ve encountered a few situations where it will simply not pronounce words or phrases correctly or will pronounce them awkwardly (e.g., misplaced emphasis) no matter how deeply I tweak it,
Are the situations you refer to english word/english voice?
Have you tried tricking it with phonemes or completely different word segments than the actual lyrics?
