Hi,

Is it just me or is the whole NI situation a big mess?

NI bought iZotope and PA and now it’s super confusing how to install and activate stuff.

I have transferred a license of stutter 2 to a buyer, they redeemed it on NI website but it doesn’t show up in Native Access for installation, can’t also install using outdated iZotope portal apparently.

I walked away from their plugins because of their buggy messy launcher and all the acquisitions, but tried to help my buyer. :borg:

It's super confusing. I have Izotope stuff that will only update through the Izotope portal (which I now have to login with my FL account credentials.)
Only Ozone shows up in FL Cloud update.

To sort everything out, I sure wish that they would release more clear information that addresses the important topics, and main customer concerns point by point. If they took the time to provide that info in an email to all of their combined customers, as well as on their websites and audio forums, there would hopefully be a lot less confusion.

I've invested thousands of dollars in each company over the years, and I'd like to see them continue to make innovative products. Competition in the market is providing more solutions, and by people who realize how important the developer/customer relationship is for growth moving forward. Ideally, I'd like to have a single portal app for all of the software that I bought from each company. They can keep their brand names, but do it altogether please, for the love of all that's holy.

Also, it would be good to be able to consolidate accounts. This is why I get my mess- I had different email addresses for Izotope and IL. I did sign on to Izotope like always, then they tell me I have to sign in with my IL account, so I do. It works so I guess I shouldn't complain.

If doable consolidate the two (and plugin Alliance) emails into a single one, that way maybe the next year integration works better.

I’m not sure if they will even manage to merge it all properly not to mention without bugs etc.

Native Access made me completely give up on them,
its easier to pirate plugins than install plugins I’ve paid for which is ridiculous.

And they still didn’t update any of their plugins to
look good on 4k displays.

Well, in light of the fact that iZotope was acquired by Francisco Partners on Mar 15, 2021, and they still don't have my Izotope account merged and reporting correctly in Native Access tells me it's a big mess.

NI and Izotope were some of my favorite toys to play with, but they have gone dormant, for good reason.
I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

I wouldn't call it a big mess, but initially the cross-over between two websites was confusing. Log in became NI login soon enough but I still have to type all of it. Yrs ago I decided on a dead simple PW for NI I won't forget. For the installer log ins where I had google create the robust PW I have to go look it up.

It's a good thing I'm not so emotional that my peeves mean I stop using useful things. I can picture that but I'm not that far gone.

The issue is you missed the point, it’s not just about the mess.
Buyer got a license from me and had it in NI account but no way to install and activate it.

In my case Native Access was always buggy mess on Mac and it will suddenly stop installing like half of my plugins.

Did some research and there is a lot of people on both platforms not being able to fix it at all…

If company after many years can’t make software properly with such basic functionality, they go on my black list.

Well, that remark isn't strictly meant to address your post, but Mr Sccops there takes about any opportunity to chime in and tell us he won't use NI because of its problems. It seems childlike. I've put too much ($) into what I have to petulantly stop using it, at any rate.
I'm aware of the problems. For quite a lot of my experience with Native Access on Mac OS 14, no download would result in an installation; it would always finish downloading but it's made to delete it once it had. In my view this is extremely stupid, because I identified the culprit, something called Aria 2(c), a dependency that I learned both VSL Vienna Assistant and Steinberg Download Assistant use; those however leave the download alone so it's just a matter of manually running the installer. By the time I knew this, what I was doing was watch the download and in the nick of time either double-click on the disk image or copy it for later, so I was able to work around the stupid problem.

I was forced to move to OS 15 after acquiring a computer with it installed, and I loathe wiping a drive and figured that would be overkill just because I'm resistant to change. Setting it up involved running NA early on, and fortunately it has not exhibited the issue. For me the issue was far from fatal. I went through some things trying to figure it out (foillowing NI's advice) when the solution was change the way I looked at the problem. I didn't fix the problem but it was easily enough worked around. I get pissed off easily enough, you know but...

"can't make software properly with such basic functionality" - you do you, but that's exaggerated AF. Personally I'm not likely to upgrade eg., Kontakt because I don't like the direction and have encountered nothing I covet that would cause me to (and Kontakt 7 didn't fix a bug that could impact people who have to use AU.). But I try to remain chill and be a problem solver.

The topic seemed to be Izotope under NI is a giant mess. Not my experience, but I really dislike having to type my email, this one is long AF. I'm sure I screamed at the computer the first time. ;)

^ I don’t know what’s childish about it.
People shouldn’t have to analyse why software is buggy and won’t even install products they paid thousands for, while “pirates” can have less issues lol.

I have tried all fixes I could find and what NI provided but nothing worked.

Maybe some people after hearing complaints like that won’t get into their products, which is good.

Speaking on this - has anyone been able to actually trial Cascadia? Their support is utterly useless. On mine, it's just asks me to activate through the portal or offline. Their support just sent me a link to their worthless faq
