Yeah, I had a Numark Axis 9 CD player that did decent glitch and other effects. I basically would sample stuff from TV, movies, my own music and sounds, and make a CD that I'd scratch and add effects to. Worked great... until it didn't. I never replaced it with anything. I kind of grew out of that schtick.Ah_Dziz wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 12:33 am Korg kaoss pad. Lots of random dj gear from the last 25 years. If you just want stutters I'd go with the kp mini or an old kp 1 or 2.
Any hardware unit for vocal stuttering on the fly?

Thank you! The more videos I look at on this unit the more I am impressed with it. I am now seeing it also has Reverb too. I have 4 fav fx types with Reverb, delay, loop and stutter and it looks like this one unit does it all.Uncle E wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 6:13 am I can confirm that you can use its effects live. I didn't use the stutter effect when I had one.
Only question I would have now is might there be a way to have all 4 of those effects preset so I can trigger any of them with the touch of a button or turn of a knob?

Sorry, I don’t remember. FWIW, it’s a great unit, well worth having for many reasons. The lofi effect alone has had a huge impact on the sound of modern hip hop.

Np. I just checked with my son who does music production, he has an SP404A which he is not using but says he thinks it's highly unlikely that I will be able to get the different fx controlled with separate knobs or pads on this unit.
I am trying to see it's stutter capabilities right now, will report back.
But my son has this unit which he says I should be able to get the 4 different fx [stutter, reverb, delay and echo loop] as I want them with each one being controlled separately with those 4 rotary knobs on the top right of this unit. He is working on it for me, will report back:

Update: Yes, the 404 stutters easily but won't work for the other 3 fx.
My son has the 4 fx working on the MPC with one slight glitch, I will have only 3 knobs to use for each fx. So for the 4th fx I will need to switch a 'page' to use with one of the knobs which is doable if better can't be done.
So guys that should be it for my experimenting, this thread has served it's purpose as I can use the 404 for only the stutter to work together with my 3 pieces of hardware and their individual fx.
If I should come across another smaller device than the MPC One+ which can give me the 4 fx I will report back, take it easy and appreciate the help!
