Seeking a few early testers for a new cross-platform DAW built with Avalonia

This DAW is a learning project I had originally developed with WPF (~10 years ago). but began porting to Avalonia several years ago for cross-platform (Windows/MacOS) and VST3 compatibility.
It has basic multi-track audio play/record/edit, MIDI play/record/edit functionality. VST3 interaction also includes automation (also recordable) and routing for things like side-chaining.
Any beta testers (I'm thinking maybe up to about 3 for now), will be assured of lifetime access to the app, in exchange for their feedback.
The build isn't public yet so anyone interested, please PM me and I'll give you the link to either or both the Windows/MacOS versions.

These days, true cross platform support means support for Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Please provide true cross platform support, by also supporting Linux.chateraise wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 3:55 pm This DAW is a learning project I had originally developed with WPF (~10 years ago). but began porting to Avalonia several years ago for cross-platform (Windows/MacOS) and VST3 compatibility.

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

ok, "... for [more] cross-platform support" lol.
With Avalonia, Linux is doable in theory but... drivers!.

Drivers? A DAW doesn’t have to worry about drivers. Besides, with Linux, 99.99% of popular equipment is class compliant and built into the kernel. There should be no need to worry about drivers.chateraise wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 2:15 amok, "... for [more] cross-platform support" lol.audiojunkie wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 5:27 pm

Right, sorry I meant "libraries", not "drivers". The libraries my app uses to read/write audio and interact with the VST3 SDK.audiojunkie wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 3:35 am Drivers? Hi, after some time I managed to eke out a Linux version, so now "...truly cross-platform" lol. (thx for the suggestion). Only tested on Ubuntu, but theoretically should work on other distributions.
I'll go ahead and provide the link here, if interested in testing it:

I am interested for Linux (Debian based, MX Linux, KDE, X11, Audio: Alsa, Pipewire, Wireplumber) if it not damage my System ^^_
I was Beta-Testing/ and Feebacking for HY Plugins, ToneBooster, Charlatan3, Algonaut Atlas as a Reference.
Around 8 month ago i switched to MX Linux and have not touch Windows 10 in this time.
Main DAW is Bitwig.
My Feedback is mostly very accurate, with System Infos, Screenshots, Logs or maybe little Animations.
Cheers*
____
Bugreport:
PS: oh yeah i downloaded...unpacked it
- The installer (i open/ run in Terminal) opens the Terminal for the linux-install.sh but it happens nothing, there is just a empty Terminal with a rectangle
- i got no error, no warning

Very sorry for the delay in reply.
I'm still trying to get the hang of Linux, as this OS is new to me.
It is likely a permission issue for the script, or for the executable or both, which doesn't show up on my machine.
Could you try the following, it should get around the permissions issue:
Download the latest linux version (I updated the linux_install.sh file).
https://www.lavenderlandweb.com/apps/Sy ... loads.html
Instead of double-clicking linux-install.sh, run the following from a terminal in the folder:
bash linux-install.sh
or
sh linux-install.sh
That will auto-run chmod +x on the executable, and it should run. Please let me know how it goes!
