Seriously. Imagine using a modern cello sample library with the SY77's FM capabilities.

I have to admit, that would probably sound pretty cool. Will Sway be able to do that?Uncle E wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 7:42 pm Seriously. Imagine using a modern cello sample library with the SY77's FM capabilities.

Now I´ve got to check how this whole programming thing works and whether this works with Windows in a virtual machine on my mac.

That software should work, I´m a bit more wary of this: "To use the Waveblade you will need to install the USB Driver and TeraTerm Windows Application on your Windows PC.". I´ll probably just order this kit first before it´s sold out again and /then/ ponder how to get it to work.bnz wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 10:37 pm I think it should work on a mac if I'm not mistaken with sy.factory.

Interesting, You are right. I've never noticed that the manuals state nothing about mac. A quick google search yielded a post on yamahamusicians though where the author of sy.factory states that it worked on both his mac on windows machines. But with mac's, you'll never know when Apple decides to disable a feature to brick old stuff.

Or the single cycle waveforms from the Prophet VS libraryUncle E wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 7:42 pm Seriously. Imagine using a modern cello sample library with the SY77's FM capabilities.
There are so many samples I have been wanting to drop in the SY77 for years, I can't wait for SWAY to be able to do that

Yes, it's something Sheaf is working on. His previously stated goal was to create a dedicated sample mapping application. I'm hoping he someday makes it compatible with other file types.wagtunes wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 9:52 pm I have to admit, that would probably sound pretty cool. Will Sway be able to do that?

Just noticed that sheaf changed Sway's name into Swayed.
Don't find this new name too inspiring, but hopefully this shows that the project is moving on

He had to change it to avoid any conflicts with NI Sway

It's also a hint to Dexed, a bit.

Yeah looks like Swayed is the final call.
