1) upward compression
2) not analog simulation, but saturation of different types that can be dialed in
3) improved auto-gain using numerical solvers (like trackcomp 2) and lufs based matching
4) proper compression modes: rms vs. peak compression
5) integrated expander
These are the things that come to my mind.

I'm hoping for upward, RMS and a 1 knob limiter that handles the remain attack portion. Maybe a proper opto mode (the current opto does not resemble the 2A at all = 1st fast release stage then extreeeeeeeeeely slow 2nd stage)

An integrated expander would be welcome, but would also cannibalize Pro-G sales, so that seems unlikely to me.

Eh, how many customers are going to know how to use an expander for gating?
You can also use pro-mb with a single band, and pro-q has dynamic eq. There’s some overlap between plugins and it’s fine.

Turn the ratio knob to infinity and Bob's your uncle.coroknight wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 6:14 pm Eh, how many customers are going to know how to use an expander for gating?

I would think that most people buying something as advanced as a Pro-C v3 would have a working knowledge of compression, limiting, expansion, and gating. If they don't, it's not terribly difficult to understand and the information is readily available all over the web/youtube. Yes, there will be people who buy it with no real intention of ever becoming a power user, but Fabfilter designs these tools to be used by people who do understand them.

I really hope one of the new features is multiband, because Pro-MB is far more overdue for an update than C2.

You’re acting like fabfilter is some obscure company. They’re arguably the top 5 biggest name in plugins. At least close.cryophonik wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 6:45 pm I would think that most people buying something as advanced as a Pro-C v3 would have a working knowledge of compression, limiting, expansion, and gating. To answer my own question I’d be surprised if even 10% of users knew how to use expansion for gating. The impact on their bottom line from overlap with pro-g is minimal.

Anyways I hope the plugin is good.

Pro C doesn't have RMS and peak modes currently??? Not very pro...bnz wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:28 pm Let's play a round of feature bingo:

It's pro priced. (This was apparently my 10,000th post here
