Servco isn't isn't just some vulture capitalist parasite looking to make a quick buck as they drain the infected host dry then leave it for dead. Servco was a major investor that rescued Fender from CBS in 1985. CBS ownership is universally viewed as Fender's low point.
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-release ... 93268.html"Servco is proud of what Fender has accomplished," added Mark Fukunaga, Chairman and CEO of Servco.
Servco has been involved in the musical instruments industry since 1937, and its relationship with Fender began as a dealer of its products in the 1950's. In 1985, Servco was part of the small investor group that backed industry icon, Bill Schultz, in the buyout of Fender from CBS. Over 25 years later, Servco increased its ownership with the purchase of Weston Presidio's stake in Fender. Through this acquisition, Servco sought to optimize the potential of this iconic music brand and selected TPG Growth as an equal partner in this journey. Fukunaga added "Servco has a 100-year track record that includes stewarding iconic brands through committed, long-term partnerships that span multiple generations. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Andy and the Fender team that will prove beneficial to our community of artists around the world."

This was said multiple times in the thread: Studio One demo versions (like Cubase) always come out a month after the initial release.

I think $99 is worth it for me to upgrade from v6, so I just did
I don't know! It seems faster starting but still laggy a little bit in playing clips (visually) in the arrangement. I need more than one day to have an opinion about it. Oh, they changed the lovely icon of Studio One!

Well - I am not a mac user. But respectfully - hoping you can explain what this is to me...tumface wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 4:57 amStudio One / Fender Studio doesn't use an installer on Mac, so that doesn't really make sense, either.
One thing that I am 100% sure about is when Studio One/Studio Pro specifically lists a "minimum" OS that is supported - you can be sure anything older than than minimum - is not applicable for "install" and you will need to upgrade your OS to use the latest - or stay where you are and use v7.2.3

For what I have seen so far (online - not in person - yet) - the new Fender sims are very (very) good. This makes you forget about the pitiful Ampire immediately.

Only you can determine if it's good enough.solvni_music wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 11:25 amDo you think it is good enough to paid the $99 upgrade ? I'm looking for advice since there is not demo
If you are new to S1/SP8 - you will need to wait for a bit for the demo.

Honestly, I love that there's at least one DAW that caters to guitarists, as they've mostly stayed out of the music production world, which caters more to the EDM/Trap crowd.

Well - I would disagree that SP8 "caters" to guitarists as it is the exact same app it was at v7.2.3 - with a new branding name, a new version number and some new features and quality of life improvementsDanilo Villanova wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 1:05 pm Honestly, I love that there's at least one DAW that caters to guitarists, as they've mostly stayed out of the music production world, which caters more to the EDM/Trap crowd.
The prior version was excellent as well - it simply was assigned a sad case for guitar sims (Ampire).
