I've been trying to contact them for some weeks to know about the status of an annoying regression in their plugin, they only have that BOT in their website and when it tries to involve a "human agent" everything hangs.
Moving on to Synthesizer Studio V Pro, much better quality and they're pretty much alive... :\
Sad because I also happen to have some perpetual licenses...

Hi there,
thanks a lot for this information. I think in all applications which need cloud based data to work you get a big risk especially if you buy a "lifelong license" or a monthly subscription with an annual payment. Suddenly the server is down and you money is lost.

Sadly, I think that this kind of service is mostly always cloud based, be it for the service itself or the authorization server - which is called every time the service is started...Brausbaer wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 2:15 pm Hi there,

So, I'm not sure that there's a valid alternative around...

It was a long time since i used EmVoice, so i fired it up and it connected to the server. There was an update i didn't know about, but else everything worked ok.
As long as i don't need any support i'm probably fine.

Do you see the playhead cursor in emVoice GUI as the DAW plays? It doesn't show here, it's been like this for a few versions and their bot has acknowledged it's a known issue. No info about any fix coming...Saffran wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 8:16 pm It was a long time since i used EmVoice, so i fired it up and it connected to the server. I found an old Emvoice setup from 2022. Version 1.0.29 and this seems to work.mabian wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 8:31 pmDo you see the playhead cursor in emVoice GUI as the DAW plays? The playhead cursor works and it authorizes so your voices is there.

Interesting, I hope you can disable the auto update in the plugin ...Saffran wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 12:49 pmI found an old Emvoice setup from 2022. Oh man. This was my fear, I bought the Keela voice perpetual early on even before they had a subscription.
I never bought another because I sensed this would eventually happen.
I can't make out from these comments if it still functions at all, but I have about 15 songs with Keela as a backing vocal that I need to render stems for urgently.
It goes to show you really need to export audio for any subscription OR remote-running host. But really it makes sense to export all tracks at the end of a song regardless. We never know what could break or have license issues.
Exported audio can't go away with the financial failure or whim of an external developer. Ugh

Believe me, Synth V is billions of light years ahead of Emvoice and Vocaloid. Even though the sound quality of the voice banks in Emvoice is ok (and I'd dare say sounds better than Vocaloid) the software is just cheesy and too basic. And the company...ugh. the worst.mabian wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 5:13 pm Moving on to Synthesizer Studio V Pro, much better quality and they're pretty much alive... :\
Life is just a Meme...(This has probably been used before. I'll work on this later. I promise I'm a creative guy!)

I'll tell you now Emvoice is just a train wreck. A total garbage company as far as I'm concerned. I own both Synthesizer V2, Vocaloid 6 and ONCE owned Keely until I made the stupid mistake of switching my perpetual license for six months free of the subscription. Only, I only had it for a day. And it's all gone. what happened is this: anytime I sit up for a trial for either a subscription or RTO, I always uncheck the reoccurring payment option and/or cancel it right away just so I don't lose track of the time I'm trying out something and accidentally get charged the first month (unless I absolutely know I want it). So that's all I did. I just unchecked the reoccurring payment option and...POOF. my subscription was canceled. Gone. With out warning. So I'm with out Keely or my granted Free six months..so f**k Emvoice. I hope they're going out of business. What irresponsible idiots. There's just too many wanna be business people in this music stuff.
Synth V is the Greatest of the greatest. Hands down the best voices ever. Vocaloid still sounds artificial and kinda cheesy, but I love the editor as it's easier and quicker to jam out melodies and lyrics than in Synth V. But what makes it cool, is when you export midi from Vocaloid, it contains the lyric data when you import it into Synth V. So...VIOLA!! perfect workflow
