Not much info leaked yet that I've seen, but Dolby Atmos/immersive mastering seems to be the main feature. WaveLab 12 is more than enough for my needs, but I'm interested to see if there is much in the way of workflow improvement/enhancements.

Saw the email this morning and did a double take in my applications folder to see what version I had haha. Opened up the SDA to see if it was there, thinking I had missed some announcement recently, and then realized the email header stated they were showing this new version at NAMM.

I was a bit surprised as well. It seems like the period between 12 and 13 was much shorter than the last few releases, so I wasn't expecting to see v13 this quickly.

I haven't seen a single bit of info from Steinberg's NAMM booth, almost like nobody went and checked it out. Even the Cubase forums were pretty dead. I live right by it, but couldn't be bothered to go this year (or last, or the year before, etc, etc).

Mmm. I don't see anything in the update that's useful for me personally. No need for the atmos stuff. The new plugins (from Cubase mostly) are not something i gonna use in mastering. And i don't see any new DDP functions unfortunately. Only some workflow improvements overall, but not enough to do the update.
I'll stick with 12 for now.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I've actually considered just buying the Elements version, which is now so complete that it handles everything I use the full version for (i.e., mastering single tracks, basic audio editing). The cost for me to upgrade from v12 to v13 is $99, which is the same as buying Elements 13. The advantage is that upgrading from each Elements version is usually around $35, so it might be better in the long run.dionenoid wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 8:23 pm Mmm. I understand that there's a 15% discount, so the update should be 85 bucks. At least here it is.cryophonik wrote: Sat Jan 31, 2026 12:34 amYeah, I'm in the same boat.
